    lesiure Battery in defender

Agree mate, same motor as you, the heater is great, have to switch it off after a while, gets too warm. Just needs setting up right.

    best £3,49 i ever spent

Free seat warmer. One thing the designers definately did right, When you leave the motor at night, remove seat base (2 seconds) Take indoors and lean on radiator. Get up in morning, take dry and toasty warm seat base and refit to motor (2 seconds) Result, lovely dry, warm seat for no...

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

Yep, dead easy. Its a carling Off/On/On switch. Take dash off, no need to take heater switch off, delve into gap, all three wires are just push on. They take a 6.3mm male spade. Make up an extension with three wires the length you need to new switch. Top wire is the common and bottom two are...

    Transmission rattle!!!!

Nice one, you seen any suppliers of the down pipe with a flex in or do you get a generic flex and make it fit.

    Transmission rattle!!!!

Hi Chris, sounds very similar to mine, only happens when driving, worse when under load, worse when in too high a gear and labouring? I presume you have a 300tdi, has it had the cat removed, my mate thinks it may be because of the rigid exhaust, thinking of putting a flex in to see if this...

    Heart over head?

I have just bought a 1993 110 Land Rover from a Defender specialist garage. I had thought that I might get a reasonable one that way but… in the space of three weeks it has been on the road for a few days. Did you not get any help from the "Specialist" garage, might be worth naming and...

    good mechanic Lancaster area?

Main road into Cockerham from Lancaster, go past Thurnham Mill and after the sharp S bend (where you turn off to the parachute place) there is a garage on your right selling petrol. A hundred yards or so past there also on your right is another garage forecourt. If you have ever passed you will...

    good mechanic Lancaster area?

You might find you get some friendly abuse for not introducing yourself first before asking questions from the old sweats on the forum. Regarding your question, how well do you know Cockerham, where abouts in Lancaster are you. I know the god of all Defender spanner men around these parts.

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

There isn't a terminal for the on/off light, I presume the feed comes internally when the switch is made.

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

Yep, dead simple, other than the dash light and earth only three connections and if you wire them any other way the switch doesnt work.

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

All fitted and working great. One small question, anyone had this problem with Carling Switches before. They state that the orange bar comes on when the switch is on and goes off when the switch is off. Mine does the exact opposite otherwise works fine. All the wiring is okay (only three...

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

Trial wired it this morning, works well, no guessing with the slider switch now. Oh bugger, I'm going to have to buy a Raptor dash now to put the switch in.:D And then some more switches Perhaps some gauges A CB probably All to save a few quid on the switch, I love this defender money pit...

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

Thanks mate. its got a 15amp fuse in at moment and the switch I have will switch the slow and fast circuit separately, they are rated at 20amp so should be fine I guess.

    Heater Blowr Switch Replacement

And now the stupid question :) My heater blower switch is not knackered but takes a lot of fiddling with to change settings. Rather than spend £50 on a new one anyone see any reason why I cant wire up a Carling Off On On to do the same job. Only £10 and it will fill a hole in the dash that I've...
