Well just done mine fitted ok though bit fidly, but...........exactly the same battery warning light glows and gets brighter with any load ie lights and when engine revvs Could it be anything else other than the alternator? before i spend money i dont have

Not done yet need to get hold of a 5.5mm socket,but doesn't sound good then

i lied :) given a choice britpart,allmakes or bearmach obviously land rover oem out of the question cost wise lol

Thanks one and all, my alternator is RTC5680e, so i am getting the regulater mentioned earlier in the thread equivalent to rtc5670? can anyone point me to any intructions on how to replace it :) thanks in advance

Sorry Datatek completly missed your post , ok im on it will see if i can get a new regulator if my alternator has a seperate one fitted

ok cool thanks : ) so would appear no great rush to sort the snag as battery and alternator seem to be working ok? will check tomorrow though if that voltage regulator will fit my alternator

Just checked battrery again and seems fine holding 12.6v and charging 13.8>14,3v, noticed warning light also gets brighter when load applied ie indicators it flashes, lights heater etc What exactly do the diodes do? if battery ok and charging is it essential i replace the pack on alternator :)

ok if it is does this mean the battery is not charging properly, and its not a rush job or do i need to get on it : )

V holds steady at 14.4 ish when revved

hi guys just wondering if anyone could shed some light on a battery warning light that has suddenly appeared, soft glow on tick over and brightens as revs increased Just checked battery with meter holding 12.2v and when on tickover showing 14.1.14.2v , but light still faint glow and brighter...

Yes its a bit odd, the one on ebay at the moment is badged Brooklands but different design, and the plastic raised lettering on the front of mine ive never seen before either, other than that its exactly the same spec including coach lines and wheels as it should be
