Erm just pulled it up, which was enough to get mole grips in on their side.

Well just resorted to the ol mole grips around the shaft (ooer) which gave just enough clearence till it was tight enough to nip up. Just glad the swivels all done :-S

hmmm was going to pay a guy £30 per hour to do my arch and battery tray but after seeing this I might get a welder and give it a go. I have access to a few gasless migs but don't want to be put off by the mess it will no doubt make so may try and get a second hand gas mig. Keep up the good work...

Diesels dont require a cat in this country for MOT only to be sold from new with one for EU regs probably. Just like the EGR valve, great in theory when new but better rid of it on an old car.
