    Td5 or V8

I get anything between 18 and 20 mpg in my V8 D2 - and living on the continent do not restrict myself to 70mph. The car is converted to LPG - so more or less half running cost of petrol and I haven't noticed any drop off in performance or mpg figure. And of course I still have the V8 under the...

Boot liner, is this any good?

Have had one of these for 3 years. I put it in the disco when I take the dog or visit the garden centre - carried all sorts - fertiliser, soil, bricks. Still looks good after three years and good value for money I think. Best way to protect the folded up jump seats

    road trip advice ??

Agree 100%. Do a thorough good service before you leave. Take a reasonable tool kit. Get European breakdown cover just in case, and then loads of sun cream and have fun. All the parts you mention are easily available in all the countries you are visiting and 90% you won't need any of them

    Epic Fail- SLS/Nanocom

Make sure the height sensors are working - one on each side. When I changed my airsprings I had to let the car down before the sensors activated the air flow into the bags

    Disco 2 with LPG conversion

I've been running a RR Classic LSE (4.2 litre) for 10 years and Discovery 2 (4.0 litre) for 4 years + Both on LPG. Absolutely no problem at all with either of them. I've read that people believe that LPG makes the bores porous but can see no evedence or logic in this

Before you spend big money check the bottle jack in the battery compartment. I thought my ACE was leaking - turned out to be the bottle jack.

    what miles is reliable

My 4.2 has over 200,000 on the clock. Always serviced on time in my ownership and have had no problems with it. The V8 needs servicing on time but if it is then it seems to go on forever.

    decisions decisions !

Single point is much cheaper to buy and fit than a sequential system. It is also more of a DIY proposition. The single point works very well on my 4.2 which is essentially the same as your 3.9 and I wouldn't personally consider putting a sequential system on this motor, although I do have a...

    decisions decisions !

On a Disco 3.9 V8 go for single point simple system. Running costs roughly half that on Petrol and cheaper than diesel. I run a single point system on the 4.2 LSE with no problems for the last 5 years

ok so what am I missing

Wired my spots from the main beam and then put a proprietory switch inside. This way you by-pass the BCM so don't have to pay a dealer to activate them through text book

    Mileage problem

I suggest that somehow mileage reading has changed to kilometers. Press the trip release button and hold for a couple of seconds - it will then revert to miles
