I've only changed both rods (track and drag) I went for PM960 Heavy Duty Steering Rods for all Defender inc Ball Joints good set, greasable ball joints... what wrong with your current one?

buy a new arm (with ball joint already in) QFW000020 Drop arm and kit for manual box RHD then follow buster's guide buying the unit pre-assembled is (for me) much less time consuming and less of a pain in the arse

have you checked yer leak off pipes for signs of wear? they rub on the rocker cover and start to let a bit of air in the mix

as above.. did you replace the seal when the bearings were changed?

what have you got exactly? roughly what does it sound like? rubbing,screeching, whurring etc...

good stuff, I've cleaned my intercooler (was pretty clogged up!) and found a hole. I have definate improvement (proberly due to the hole). really interested in seeing how it goes (and seeing the pics!!)
