Road Tax Costs for a 1.8 serengeti.

Save £50 a year in tax, awesome. Keep it and I'll take the extra 10mpg. Perhaps you can have a giggle over the £475 road tax I have to pay on the Gaydon.

    FBH still firing

I had something similar. No Matter what, the FBH fired up on a morning. That's not a big problem, but after having the battery off for so E work, now it won't fire up. I can only assume those temp sensors are crap. I'm going to put a manual override on so I can force it on it off at will. As...

    Adding bluetooth

Mine had ISO cables. As long as it doesn't have the Harman Kardon system, I'd say an aftermarket like the Parrot would get the best features and less hassle.

    Running Boards

Make them stick out a mile. Useful for parking in supermarkets where muppets allow kids to throw open doors onto your car.

What Freelander Have you Got Poll

FL 2004 Premium Sport. All mods done (egr, BMW breather etc.). One tin of lithium spray grease and nearly all the interior rattles are gone. A few packs of dynamat sorts the rest.

    Injectors

Don't drop the washers. Don't force it if they are stuck. If it goes wrong, it goes wrong big. Make sure you do it when the engine is not cold and also that you have someone nearby with injector removal tools if its stubborn.

It's been a few days, still smoke free and no lumpy tickover at startup. Well happy.

    water problem

The air con runs whether the switch is on or off if the blower direction is on the windscreen. Check it whilst parked up, fire up the engine with the heater pointing at the cabin or feet. Then move the direction to windscreen, hear the AC clutch engage?

Fitting a Double Dinn GPS/DVD into dash

You still have to bypass the HK amp or splice in the line-outs.

TD4 Start up smoke and lumpy for a few secs

His name is Paul, http://www.landrover-garage-northwest.co.uk/ Costs. Diagnostics and flow check. Supply and fit 3 injectors, 4 glow plugs changed. Fitted BMW PCV and EGR bypass ( I supplied those two parts). Checked out a couple of rattles and noises. £650 all in. I think 2 injectors...

TD4 Start up smoke and lumpy for a few secs

OK, this tortured me for a few weeks. I thought I would put this up as a seperate thread for others. A couple of weeks after I got my 2004-2006 Freelander TD-4 I took it to a local garage for an oil change. Routine, matter of course stuff. They gave it the once over and got a clean bill of...

    synergy2 good point and bad

I should add, the Bluefin I fitted to my 2.0tdi Audi seemed great. After two years or so I removed it and the reduction in power was not significant. Bluefin claim 30bhp and similar torque improvement but in all honesty, it just smoothed out the delivery and made it more drivable. The Audi had...

    synergy2 good point and bad

Straight up, I'm not intimately familiar with the Synergy. But with that in mind, I have used similar devices. In my Saab I used a "tuning box" that was supposed to be microprocessor controlled etc. but generally just overfueled the motor by manipulating the input to the ECU from a sensor. The...

    Are they worth it ?

Td4 for sure. No smoke on cold startup (not a big problem, but annoying to diagnose). Full lock forward/reverse should be effortless. Otherwise the 4x4 viscous coupling might need changing (£400). No warning lights, check downhill assist. Really, just read the problem threads and you'll see...

Fitting a Double Dinn GPS/DVD into dash

Yup! The HK headunit has power and control wires which match up to your ISO lead but the speaker wires bit is a different kettle of fish. The output from the HK unit goes to the amp under the seat with <1v output to be amplified to speaker level output. You cant feed your amp with the speaker...

    smelly smoke help
