well bought 2ltrs of atf fluid today ready to check level in gearbox,undone level plug and ended up removing about 2ltrs instead.all done now have orderd service kit and will sort it on the weekend.

thank you Brian47,my sons diagnostics is compatable with the d2,the nanocom read the box was in low range even with sensor diconected apparently a common fault with the nanocom my sons showed it working,im not sure the make but he paid a lot of money for it and i'm old school so all this modern...

thank you spot1 my son has plugged his diagnostics kit into the disco it's not the nanocom and had a lot more data,he thinks it's something simple like low fluid level so will check tomorrow

not sure that would cause the lack of throttle response when cold and once warm all the gears work fine. and to answer lancorky I bought it as seen so no returns but thank you for the reply,I would love to sort the problem because the chassis is rot free.

Hi hope some one can help I have a 2002 discovery td5 auto with a strange problem,when I start it from cold it fires up straight away no problem give it a minute to circulate the oil . then if you rev it it seems to rev ok but if I put it into gear there's no throttle,you cant pull away forward...

well 2 hours,a bit of welding rod with a bit of speaker magnet taped to the end and a lot of swearing later job done. yes the oil filler/level plug will fit through the drain plug :D

yep sounds simple shouldn't have wound it in so far but there again I thought there would have been a stop of some sort, you can't wind a diff plug in to far?
