    Security Devices

In respect of devices such as steering locks, there's a thread on this over at Login notably, the Metro Stoplock Ultima "We defeated the lock in 119 noisy seconds - but only after some lateral thinking...", the Disklok: "...it took 117 quiet seconds to defeat ..." whilst the Cosmic C482...

    Stolen 90 sheffield

Nice to note 2 suspects in custardy... wonder if we're going to hear about any other vehicles? - surely this wasn't the first one they'd ever tried to nick... If anyone manages to keep tabs on this case, eventually the perps' addresses are going to be read out in court, which might help build up...

    Stolen 90 sheffield

By my count, in Sheffield and district (extending as far as Bakewell) there have been at least 8 nicked in October - November. I understand CID have set up something, as it seems quite likely there's a chopshop in the vicinity. Gossip was Rotherham area, though it's not substantiated. In many...

Just thought I'd keep you all upto date!!!!

I don't think it unreasonable to answer the door (to someone with a sledgehammer) with a shotgun. If you lived on your own, you'd probably be quite happy to do that. But again, I'd point out that if you have a family in the house, and obviously they(the villains) know your address but you...

Tiny hose leak - possibly where hose rubs somewhere. Low level water causes airlocks...?

Just thought I'd keep you all upto date!!!!

You mistake my attitude! - I'm not saying we should roll over and let them take what they want - I'm saying take the war to them, don't have it on your doorstep. Some years ago, on interrupting a set of thieves, they threatened to torch my house with the family in it. Needless to say, when...

Just thought I'd keep you all upto date!!!!

As I posted over on Landywatch - you don't want to get in a war with some of these people! - they know where you live, you don't know where they live. If you ramp up hostilities beyond a certain point - they could torch your car... or worse! Bear in mind that, if they are nicking these...

You know that ancient thing they would do, using two elephants pulling away from each other, one attached to a poor victim's arms, the other to his ankles?....

    Stolen 90, Sheffield 27th Oct

Oh - posted on the security pages: I had no extra security other than the new immobiliser. Oddly, given that i could never start it without both key fobs - for the new immobiliser and the old one for the ignition barrel to recognise proximity - and yet, they didn't need any of that - rig up...
