i took the bmec apart and traced the wire back what i found was one of the tracks on the bmec pcb was burnt out. so i repaired it with a piece of wire. don't be put off about opening the bmec up its just 2 boards with a few connectors the whole thing took less than 20 mins start to finish:D

Selling my series 3 :( as i have to finish my series 2 :D. Not my daily driver but used most weekend until an MOT fail back in august :roll: now has 12 months MOT! The chassis now sound as is the outriggers and the bulk head, just a small amount of rust by the hinge on one side...

Datatek , thanks for the offer, what i want to know is is it a single board or multiple boards and if i can check the connection and voltage with a multimeter :eek:

just had the same problem on my drivers door ! so after hours with the multi meter i found that there is a issue with the becm sending power to the door. the fuses f9 and f22 should have 12 v, which they do, but on checking the output from the bmec the purple black power wire had less than...

The useing oil, poor performance and crap starting may be related, i have a bmw325 (same one as the p38) engine in my clasisic and had the same problems. The engine breather exits in to the air filter housing and then on to the turbo.Because of the way the oil is pumped up in the rocker cover...

just found a this on ebay 4617620095 its the same one as i have ! also if your serching the net for info look for 4.203 this will give more results than 4203 hope this helps paul

i have a perkins 4203 workshop book drop me a line i will see if i can scan it in i run the 4203 in a stage 1, yes it leaks oil , yes is slow , but i have had no problems with it , and the last owner had it in for 10 years with no problems , may be cause i got a salasbery rear axle and a range...
