Hi all
I juts got my freelander back last week after being diagnosed with a faulty aircon pump and now when i'm holding it at speed and light throttle it starts bouncing forward and back. Almost like fuel cut . It will accelerate and idle ok but won't hold speed without bouncing like...
Just an update in case its of use to anyone. After trying all additives and changing oil a few times , turned out to be the compressor for the aircon was dying a death.disconnected and now motoring quiet :) thanks for all the replies though folks
thansk for that :) would not have thought about the battery :) Why did you change yours out of curiousity? what were your symptoms?I have this tapping noise that is only there on startup and idle . Added tappet cleaner and no joy. A guy in the motor factors suggested it and it sounds likely.
Hi all
I was told the noise could be a faulty oil pressure switch seeing as it only happens at low rev or start up. Sounds plausible?
Question is where is it and how do I go about changing it
Thanks
someone mentioned to me that it may be injector related?i know i have smoke on satrt up and a bit of juddering but would this be the cause of the noise?
i had a similar problem last year. I had my clutch replaced but the guy who refitted it only put cable ties around the boots where the driveshafts meet the box and so all the grease leaked out and they were dry and wobbling away at speed.
I added some pro tec nanotec additive as i couldn't get the wynss. Its still happening even after the oil change and seems to have gotten a bit louder eventhough it still stops after a few seconds.Could i add the wynss to it too oor should i drain and refill?
cheers for all the helpful info folks. Its greatly appreciated. It hasn't done it at all today so far so fingers crossed a good oil change will sort it. Want to keep her going for as long as i can :)
It's not flapping more of moving sided to side on the top pulley. How expensive are the tappet to replace? Can I still drive it? Was worried it was bottom end /shells related
