Ok well I'll clean all the oil off change the seal and see if i get any more oil leaking. Although still find it hard to understand how that much oil can get around the corner and run down the block, but maybe that's just me.

Good point but would that cause it to leak down the side of the drivers side of the engine that far back??? I will change it anyway.

Hi all I have an oil leak, yes it's a discovery (1999 td5) so I'd expect one. :-) This one is odd though as the front drivers side (left hand side looking from the front of the car) is saturated in oil from the front to half way back covering the alternator running and dripping onto the front...

All night my car sat with the alarm set via the fob. Unlock the car and drive home 18 miles. Lock the car with the fob, just over 30 mins and the alarm goes off. Why why why.

Update again Spoke to land rover today, sensors are not coded or programmed to the car and its nothing they've come across before. If I take it in to them they can plug it up and tell me what the fault is, but won't be able to pinpoint it exactly without removing the roof lining. So I asked...

Can't see how I could of touched the receiver, in all honesty I didn't know there was an additional receiver? May have to get it plugged up to some sort of land rover computer.

Update..... Now I'm confused........ Left the car unlocked last night, went out to it this morning and locked it with the fob, half an hour later all is well, so unlocked it with the fob, and moved the car and locked it with the fob again, 30 seconds later the alarm goes off. Unlocked...

Think I'll try that tomorrow. Would they just blow/malfunction like that just because I disconnected them sorted sunroifs and plugged them back up? How odd.....

Alarm sets. Red dash light flashes as usual, rapidly for a short period of time then every two seconds thereafter. Fob locks and unlocks car as normal.

If correctly means put the one back in the rear that came from the rear and the one in the front that came from the front. Wires connect as they came out then yes I've put them back properly. Just confused as to why this would happen and how to fix it.

Hi all. Today I decided to reseal the sunroofs on my discovery TD5. Head lining out, alarm sensors off, I didn't disconnect the battery. Now all I get when I lock the car is the alarm going off. Is there a reset procedure for the alarm. Thanks

Replaced drop link arms when I fitted new anti roll bar..... This may sound stupid, but it hasn't got an A frame, as it's got a watts link, ive had that checked and was told there was no play. It's quite a heavy knock.

A little confused. Whilst driving my Td5 auto I've noticed I'm getting a thud from the back end each time I go over a pot hole or slightly uneven road. I've looked underneath and cant see anything untoward. I've recently got rid of the ACE system and fitted standard anti roll bars and also...
