Yep fit new rear crank oil seal while it's out! and check clutch arm and clutch obviously, the clutch push rod has a habit of wearing through the clutch arm.

My guess is a shortened 90 chassis to suit 88 bodywork as that rear tub is definatly a series 3 and yes the rear indicators moved to the lower position on the last of the series 3's

Good info guys, also correct , the Defender name came in 1990 with the 200 tdi before this they were plain ole ninety ,one ten and 127.

Hi i had same problem with mine and it was the fuel pump in the engine bay under the battery if it fails to start again check this pump to see if it's running by touching it, with the ignition on of course, not sure where the cam sensor is located so not sure about the oil sorry, good luck!
