Looked at it but couldnt see a point to get the jack inbetween the axel and something hard enuff on the chassis. any pointers ? Only got a tiny halfords special 2tonne jack.

Sorry DR evil - weve got wires crossed. Ive got the bolts out and have got it out of its home in the bell housing but i cant get it below the axel. The unit is loose and bouncing around in my under carriage i just cant get it on to the ground.

Its interfering by about an inch so not sure smacking it will do anything except loose my skin on my knuckles :). Think im gonna get her up in the air tomorrow. I reckon if the axel drops a few inches ill get her out no problem. touch wood

got to be a bad connection like you say. The flashing/clicking sounds like a flat battery but if you says that ok - its got to be a bad connection. Id check the +ve 1st! The earth shoulnt of been disturbed. Why was the starter replaced originally though ?
