    RR diffs throwing out instruments

what about the stage 1 rear axle? they are the same ratio as the RR diff's, and someone mentioned it was a salisbury. they are also leaf sprung.

    RR diffs throwing out instruments

I suspect that if you can find the speedo unit from a stage 1 v8 (series 3 v8) which has the higher ratio diffs, but someone said they have a salisbury on the back so in other words the stage 1 should have a high ratio salisbury, if you can grab the speedo unit out of this it should be set to...

    throw out bearing

great, the other thing I am worried about is if I take the flywheel off won't the torqued bolts need to be replaced? I think I have heard they can snap if you try and reuse them.

    throw out bearing

my budget consists of how much money I have in the bank on the day, and at the moment its none. im not keen on importing a flywheel conversion, (im in New Zealand) so unless an engineer can put some bolt holes on it for me, (and keep it balanced) then im going to have to stick with the...

    throw out bearing

is that going to cost a lot? as im on a bit of a budget here

    throw out bearing

first off conversions can be a pain in the neck. anyway I have a landrover and I can't seem to find the clutch thrust bearing. the flyweel and clutch cover are isuzu, as is the motor, I don't think a landrover thrust bearing would work as the clutch cover is rather different so...

    Body Kit.. decisions decisions.

Im a fan of the full hardtop, more undercover room so you can carry more stuff without people being able to easily take it, and its away from the weather a bit more.

    confusion RE brakes.

oh well, looks like i am sticking to the 10" drums then.

    confusion RE brakes.

so do you think that I should stick with the 10" drums? also I have a set of the narrower shoes for 11" drums. surely I can just chuck them onto the 11" off the series 2 in other words put 11" drums, with the narrower shoes onto my s3 swb. Im not sure if it was military, but I doubt it

    confusion RE brakes.

just checked and the lwb has twin leading shoes on the front as well. not single ones. so basically to sum it up, the series 2 obviously has lwb brakes on it, but why are the pads so much wider? and should I chuck them on my series 3 swb and then gloat over the better braking?

    confusion RE brakes.

I am confused, we have 3 landrover's a 1981 109, a 1976 88" and an old series 2 for parts (chassis is literally in several pieces, lol) anyway the 109 has 11" drums and a single brake wheel cylinder for each wheel. the 1976 88" has 10" drums, and a single wheel cyl per wheel the series...

    no flahers or horn !!

around the top of the radiator there is a bunch of wires that go between the headlights, there is usually some connectors here and they tend to get really corroded and stop working. causing all sorts of strange behaviour with lights.

what should I put on the dash, in the center

someone thought it was a good idea to put a car stereo onto my series 3 dash (one of the many previous owners) the stereo is now gone, but the holes and cracks are still there. Im not sure about putting a stereo there, so am trying to think of something else to put there so the ugly bit is...
