    anti roll bar.

No, he has the set as shown in the link, but the stupid bolt has a large flat washer as part of the head. That's why it doesn't fit, and that's why it got chewed in the first place, it's a 10mm head for what would normally be 13mm, and it's made of cheese.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Painted rear brake drums (well worth it) and a few other gravel blasted bits. Noticed rusted brake pipes! Need to look into renewing the lot and be done with it. They are covered in Qartzite gloop and salt most of the time down here.

    anti roll bar.

I'd never seen these before. When I went around to my local garage the owner had a set but unfortunately none of them fit, so I think it's down to either welding someting on top to get a grip on, or renewing the bushes and tacking the forward part of the clamp to the subframe and taking it from...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Renewed rear door handle (My fault, I thought it was jammed and tried lifting the door as I opened it. The £150 handle came away in my hand...so I HAD to buy the nice 2004 TD4 HSE:D) Found this inside the rear door  Scrubbed it out and cleared the drain holes. Also fitted my...

    4 wheel laser allignment

Thanks Hippo. Was wondering if it's possible to use Trackace with lines to do a 4-wheel. Yes I seen a comment that they would bring out a 4-wheel but nothing yet in their site. Mind you the way they invented that piece of kit I wouldn't put it past them to do a 4-wheel too. I'm trying to...

New Owner. low down power Problem TD4

Nice picture of the turbo etc thanks hd3. From that it looks like the vacuum actuator works the VNT direct via the rod. I wasn't sure as I thought I read about checking the VNT by applying 12v to the actuator, meaning the vacuum servo tells the electrical actuator what to do, and by a suitable...

    4 wheel laser allignment

There you go! That's the way it should happen. At a place where Techs are doing this all day One would hope they are wizards with their kit. It sounds like this guy had the skill and patients to do a good job. I hope his Manager notices that. Not everyone has an ATS or whatever on your...

    anti roll bar.

Do you mean wrap insulation tape around the bush to compress it more onto the bar, then re-clamp it? That was kind of what I wanted to do, only use a bit of garden hose as a spacer...before the bolt saga happened:mad:

What have you done to your Freelander today

Hey Singvogel! I spotted a bonnet spoiler on your lovely TD4 yesterday when I was looking through some older posts. Does that by any chance deflect stones/grit etc up and over the screen do you think?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Thanks Freelander. May have to do the same. The drop links are new though. Went for them first too, so working back from there. With the RH drop link off there is no clunk, so the Anti-roll bar is something to do with it I think. There was a mm or so up and down play in each bush.

    anti roll bar.

Don't know about any colletts, I didn't see them on mine. Perhaps they popped out and that's what's banging on my '04 TD4? Anyway I tried to renew the bushes hoping that would help but I destroyed the RHF bolt head trying to get it out. My fault really because I didn't have the best tools...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Hi All! I'm new. Been reading for days and learned a lot thanks. Renewing Anti-roll bar bushes today. (mushed one bold head though...going to get a nut welded on top and hope that gets it out). Hope it gets rid of an annoying clunk. Swapping towbar from my L Series to my TD4.

    BAd Vibration

I have a Freelander that I've been driving for the past year and it's developed a heavy vibration under power. I wonder if it's what you have got? I put mine down to a worn RH inner CV joint and it's easy to diagnose without getting underneath....It shakes the whole car under power in any gear...

    Saying Hello

Hi there LR Inmates. Been lurking for a while since I got my new to me '04 TD4 a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for all the info so far. Helped me to iron out a few issues and give me a few ideas. I've just finished a deep-clean on my 74000 mile TD4 and it's looking good! It's done arount...
