no it doesn't do it when not in gear. it is the same kind of crunch you'd get if you cock up a clutchless gear change. worse when going down the gears..

hi all I have a disco 300tdi. It will go into gear fine, but when i lift the peddal it grinds as it bites, like a gear grind/crunch. Do you think it's my clutch that has gone, or maybe the release bearing? Either/or? they both come with a new clutch kit. I'm about to start ringing...

I don't know what the matter is with you lot? A Land Rover even with the worst tyres, providing that are legal, will have some tread. Yes progress over ice will be a challenge(not a problem), but driving on or through snow will just be fun, fun and more fun! Improve your technique - good tyres...

Hello It's happened a few times now. While on a long down hill, it will let out a puff of blue smoke ! I think blueish anyhow, deffinately not black. Burning oil?? Oil and coolant levels fine, and not dropping. Otherwise the engine is running great with plenty of power. Any ideas...

I recently read that the "2ltr mpi is often overlooked and actually returns better mpg than the tdi" can this possibly be true??? any 2ltr petrol cars that i have owned, i.e ford and audi estates have returned apauling mpg. anyone actually owned a mpi? worth a look?
