Hi Paul, I've got my second fusebox, stereo amp, inverter, etc. behind the seats - like you say, if it gets wet there I'm in trouble! I bought a 300w inverter off ebay - wasn't expensive and it does the job. It came with a cigarette lighter adaptor, but I've got it wired in permanently...

I'm not able to get the pedal to go down to the floor with the engine off. But once the engine is running it does go down. I can then "pump up" the pedal - but then with a constant pressure it'll slowly go back down. I'm not sure what jamesmartin was trying to say - I appreciate the pedal...

Well, I say that... my brakes seem to have given up the ghost after last Sunday's mud-plugging. However, I am determined to sort them out on Saturday - so fingers crossed. I really don't want to miss out on another outing!

Have you been beating sh** out of your steering box? It doesn't come off like that. You need to remove it from that mount that it's attached to, then the box and the steering column will come out as one. At least, I think that's what you're trying to do!

Okay, easy diagnosis for you now.... The brake pedal only "pumps up" with the engine running. With the engine off, brakes are solid and the pedal doesn't slowly go down. Start the engine and immediately it's possible to push the pedal down all the way, and then it can be pumped to get it back...

Is it worth having a pair of cylinders ready just in case? Although I used a jet-wash for cleaning, I was careful not to blast the cylinders themselves as I seem to recall reading that it's possible to push water past the seals. Can I ask why the rear cylinders would give the symptoms I've...

Went to my first "Pay-n-Play" yesterday and got my 1988 Ninety sill-deep in very thick mud. When I got home I took each wheel off and jet-washed all the crap off. At the back I also took the brake drums off and cleaned the mud from inside the drum and all around behind the shoes, etc. Driving...

Yep - in hindsight, being a passenger or at least having someone in the car with me would have been a better idea! Hey ho - at least I finally got my Landy properly dirty!

Don't get me wrong - everyone else there seemed to be having a great time! I'd never taken my Landy off-road before so it was a real case of "in at the deep end". Apart from the obvious - stick it in diff-lock and stay in a low gear - I didn't really have a clue as to what I was doing. Not...

I went. Scared myself. Went home. Then I spent the rest of the day jet-washing all the mud off. Rear brakes were packed with the stuff. To be honest, without anyone to give me advice / pointers, I felt very out of my depth. I think I'd be lying if I said I had a good time! :o
