removed the pipe you mentioned for a few mins, i kept the revs at 1500 and it was still bluish smoke, no improvment, the pipe was oily and worn, was holed were the jubilee clip goes. am hoping the bluish smoke is related to turbo ive fitted for new glow plugs, one out of four were working...

another post.... :D had someone look at it for me, removed glow plug from the cylinder in question, connected it to a live wire to battery, then earthed and it didnt do anything.. ive ordered glow plugs, see if it helps at all also checked the turbo. removed hose and said there was alittle...

i have noticed below the head gasket from each corner ( bulkhead side ) about 1 inch in was abit oily/wet looking then from there to front of engine was dry.. the above along with oil behind the engine a sign of head gasket failure?

nope, i got a funny look from a local mechanic when i mentioned this. another whos said to be a good land rover mechanic said if i can hear a drop/difference in engine when i slacken injector nut then the injectors are working.

try some filler, sounds like its got a big crack!

cant get my hand properly between back of engine and bulkhead, it is abit oily in that area the disco isnt overheating, no crap in water, it is using alittle water but thats driping from thermostat. heat comes from the heater etc.. ive never driven a land rover before this one, it seems to pull...

worth a try i guess, on number 1 at bulkhead? previous owner said head gasket was done couple year ago after timing belt snapped, he also said the head didnt need skimmed

ok started the disco up this morning, running lumpy and smokey, one at a time i slackend each injector nut starting with 1, every time one nut was slackend the engine probaly ran worse, i didnt notice any improvement with smoke edit: heres a quick vid, wasnt sure if spray from injector nuts...

i didnt mate, only number 1

I got a working tank sender for my disco one cheap, its helped me rule it out its causing white smoke problem but the feed on the left(biggest one) sits to high, meaning i cant refit the inspection plate( tank sender is fitted correct ) Looking at the original sender the same pipe as one...

ok james thanks for the help, ill give it one more go and try get hold of a replacement injector and see if it helps. i fear it might be a compression issue

changed the tank sender yesterday, hasnt helped at all when first started. i sprayed some water on each of the exhaust manifolds before started, its not runing on number 1 when first started. could the white/blue smoke still be injector problem, after using alot of treatment?

it has to be unburnt fuel with the smell that comes with the smoke lol tryed lots of injector cleaner, its not looking good for the old disco

no problem mate ive got a tank sender there to try, will fit asap ive noticed now, the disco is smokey at start while idea and reved, once its it runing temp and i hold the revs to 1500 it chucks white smoke out all the time..

theres said to be a problem were oil level doesnt show whats really there, i dont want to over fill it.. 6.5/.7 should be enough? it doesnt seem to show that.. id rather try find out if it has said problem, before i put more in
