    Just hello for now

That's a very critical comment West Slope Rover, unfortunately it's probably true much as I hate to admit it. I certainly wouldn't venture into the outback with my p38 after the problems I've had recently.

You'll never make it to the top of the "Lion's Back" with an old land rover diesel in it you might if you drop in a tdi though in 1st gear low box.

    Hello

Welcome wightrob, you'll get plenty of good advice on this site, I found that putting parabolic springs on my old lightweight series lll made a big difference to the ride quality.

    Hi! New series owner

Welcome Mattsuffolk, looks like you've got yourself an interesting project restoring that old series llA and she should be worth a bit of money when you get it finished. Have fun.

    Hello all

Welcome BAT120mm, sounds like you were in the Artillery at some time. A disco with a 300tdi is a good all round vehicle and quite easy to maintain. Buy yourself a mig welder and learn to weld to keep the tin worm at bay and you'll save yourself a fortune and the disco will last for years.

Hi think it's what they used to call a "bikini top", they used to be available for the old series land rovers.

Hi Dave thanks for the pics, your old NAS Defender looked the real deal I can see why you have regretted selling it, great looking motor. You've got quite a bit of work to do on your ex MOD FFR 90 and I expect you'll be getting rid of that old diesel lump and dropping in a meaty V8 plus other...

Engine disabled AGAIN - problem found

Hi guys, last week I posted the Engine Disabled AGAIN thread, today I have found the problem and the car is running again sweet as a nut. The window winder regulator mechanism on the drivers door was worn and had began to jump as the window was wound up, this had started a couple of days before...

    Engine Disabled - AGAIN!

Wish I could afford a Butler, I,m just a retired ex trucker who is forking out too much cash to keep his rangie on the road. I've checked all fuses and connections as far as I can, the carpets are dry with no leaks etc so no water in the electrics. I've got a local LR expert coming round on...

    Engine Disabled - AGAIN!

Thanks Rangeyroamer, when it became immobilised on thursday I was miles away from any radio masts or anything giving off electrical interference. The car had been running great then this happened out of the blue so to speak

    Engine Disabled - AGAIN!

Hi Rick-the-Pick, just checked all under bonnet fuses and all are ok except there is no 50amp Maxi fuse in position 2, there wasn't one there when I bought the car last June. The car is in an alarmed state all the time and won't recognize the EKA code at all, I have removed the horn fuse and...

    Changing from manual to Automatic

Autos are dead easy, just keep your left foot out of the way and don't use it at all. Going down a long steep hill you can drop a gear and put it into the "hold" position same as you would change down on a manual. The only problem is when you drive a manual again you have to remember to put...

Radiator, is the diesel one different to petrol??

I'm not too sure about this but I think that the diesel radiator with a manual gearbox is different to a radiator with an auto gearbox.

    Engine Disabled - AGAIN!

Hi Guys, thanks for your interest in my predicament. In january the engine disabled message came up and the car wouldn't start, I bought a new heavy duty battery and new batteries in the key fobs. I checked that the EKA code I had was the right one, tried several attempts with the EKA code but...
