    Piggy backed home!

Yip totally agree, either later tonight or tomorrow I shall remove both the pump and the stat and check them out if it is still the plastic impeller then I think it will be a replace anyway, the viscous internal thread is still healthy but yes it does look to have been chiseled once or twice.

Good good, then it would appear to be fine, so then it has just worked loose for some reason. has this happened to any other owners?

    Piggy backed home!

The radiator is out and drained, only coolant, no contamination and the viscous coupling is cleaned up and still screws into place but I'm not sure just how free this should be, as it is I would say it requires a pound or two of pressure on the spanner to turn the coupling..... normal or goosed?

    Piggy backed home!

Latest news! Upon starting to strip down for pump and thermostat checks I discovered the fan was OFF and lying loose in the cowling  could this possibly be the sole cause of the heat/pressure issue?

    Piggy backed home!

As you can imagine I am hoping to flush/fill and grin but its never been that simple since she replaced the Disco, anyway as I say the heater in the car did not appear to be getting any heat so a blockage would be a fair guess but obviously I need to check out all possibilities before setting...

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

Well now she is feeling better, just got the tyre situation sorted, she now has a nice pair of Vredstein wintrac extreme boots on the front and handling a lot better, anyone have any input on these tyres as I had a preference to General or Bridgestone on the TD5 but even as partworns tyres are...

    16.8mpg from a P38?? Hmmm....

My first LR was a 3.9 v8 Classic, We had to part company due to the short runs to my work of 4 miles she managed around 12-14 when serviced dropping to single figures as time went by, Mitsi Pajero replaced that but missed the LR too much ;)

    16.8mpg from a P38?? Hmmm....

Mine is reading about the same at the moment, to and from work which is only 4 miles so I believe that to be about normal, however I have played around with the driving styles since buying it, Motorway; 50mph for 110 miles got it up to 36. Motorway; 70+mph for 110 miles at around 28 Urban...

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

I was estimated £200 to fit the pair on the N/S but being an honest trader he informed me that the ball joints were fine and that it was the radius arm bushes that needed replacing, tracking and spiggot rings....£258 all in, pretty fair if you ask me. ;) Plug time ;) Gibson Auto's Cumnock...

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

Omg he was surely robbed, I bought a pair for less than 20 quid and turned out I didn't need them, that's a whole heap of labour charges:eek:.

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

Sorry guys, not been on here for a while but car is getting better all the time. it turned out to be the radius arm bushes and wheel alignment (out by 3°) also there were no spiggot rings in the 19" wheels  But hey onwards we go (minding the wallet as we go) :D

P38 2.5 Dt Injector pump leak

I concur, lol. I looked on fleabay 150-300 used, but Lucas would offer no warranty on fitting it so I couldn't take the risk, It is now running well and I shall just remedy all the little niggles as my wife and wallet allow :ballchain: :D

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

Cheers Gents I did try them with a crow bar but only the near side, so tomorrow I'll be more thorough and check all joints and bushes on both sides. I am currently looking for a pair of tyres for the front and I'll replace them at the same time as getting the alignment done, but having just...

And on to the next problem! Wheel camber?

Well I have just been out for a closer look, and I am none the wiser it appears to me that the worst side (near) is wearing to the out side but drivers side is wearing to the inside  The ball joint's look and feel OK but I'm no expert and I can feel no play in the wheel wheel...
