Battery & Brake warning light comes on.

I've had more pressing problems to rectify since getting my Defender 90 a few months ago, but here is a more minor irritating problem. Usually occurs when going downhill, the battery & brake warning lights come on. I guess it's a bad earth or cable shorting to the chassis somewhere, I've checked...

    Temperature a bit high?

I've ordered the sender in the link, no adapter. The Gauge he mentioned is £35, I've decided against it right now as I don't want the extra hassle, I'll consider gauge upgrade when I do any sort of dash upgrade further down the line. Main thing right now is getting this into a reasonable...

    Temperature a bit high?

On the phone to Steve Parkers, he is adamant that I need this: www.steveparkers.com/product/spck224t2-90-110-conversion-fine-thread-temp-sender-with-200tdi/ I asked about a gauge that shows the temperature, he has found one, I would need an adapter for the sender and it is capillary rather...

    Temperature a bit high?

I'm off work from Wednesday and through next week, that might be the best time to sort this out. Dingocroft will have a thread gauge, they will call me soon and we'll work out a plan

    Temperature a bit high?

The supplied sender is the wrong thread, I have emailed Dingo Croft with an image and I'll take it from there... They supplied a Defender sender which should be the same as the Range Rover one. The one in the image on the left is what is fitted the one on the right supplied by Dingocroft.

    Temperature a bit high?

Whilst the Land Rover supplier Dingocroft, was investigating, I called Engine Solutions who had fitted the recon. engine and updated them with the information, asking if they knew the origin of the engine. When I mentioned that it was probably from a Range Rover, they stated that the 200dti was...

    Temperature a bit high?

I ordered a sender from my local Land Rover supplier on Friday, this supplier is very good. If the previous engine was a Defender and the sender and gauge was also a Defender, the sender that had been ordered will match the gauge. I have told the parts shop the new information, engine serial...

'see if it has a coloured ring' doesn't look like it... 'is the sender on the stat on a 200tdi?' Don't know, with hindsight I should have identified the other engine before the change. 'i'd also ask steve parker' excuse my ignorance, who is Steve Parker?
