Yes I am pleased with it. As I said, I don't intend to wade anyway, so this isn't preparation for wading, I hope never to ruin my alternator/stater motor with mud! But a road was blocked for road works whilst going to the beater annual BBQ on the estate the other day and we could have waded...

When I got my Defender 90 I discovered that the snorkel wasn't fitted, the pipe from the air filter to the wing intake was missing also.... When I tried to purchase the pipe I was told it was no longer available, I decided to try botching the connection... I'm really pleased with the result...

I decided to try topping up the brake fluid as it was a little low, not below the minimum though. Topped it up to max. Also a brake light was out so checked it. Found it to be at a funny angle, not seated correctly and the bulb holder was melted where it was resting. Not possible to seat it...

Yup I agree, 82 is standard, but maybe a bit cold for winter...

The Haynes manual states that the thermostat opens at 82 degrees centigrade for the 200dti engine. 88 degrees for the 300TDi.

The infra red temperature gun showed similar I would say the gauge is correct

I haven't got a normal Defender... Ironic as this thread is titled 'temperature a bit high' , the temperature is a bit low after all..

What should it be at?
