Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

Yes it could come in handy for some goodies installed aftermarket, though I like to keep my cars pretty much as supplied. Hence why I still have my EGR and crankcase breather filter. I guess I’m just a Luddite at heart.

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

I'm thinking it could be something to do with the PCT heater fitted to some models I do believe you have it right. I was coming to a similar conclusion myself after reading the electrical spec (part attached) and I cannot think of any other option that would have provision made in a standard...

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

There are two wires. White with a purple stripe and green with a yellow stripe. They seem to disappear into a main wiring loom under the fuse box.

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

I already have a factory fitted FBH, but it could be for aux lights I guess as I don't have front fogs or driving lamps.

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

I don’t think the O2 sensor is right ether though it was a good shout. I do hope it’s not provision for an optional item else I’ll be wanting the option!

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

I have attached a few more photographs. The connector lies between the electrical connector box and the left hand wing and is behind the fuse box. It was dragged up to take the close up photo although the wire to the connector restricts it from being withdrawn any more.

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

Thanks for the response but my HDC is working just fine, and my autobox too. The connector block is just laying there unconnected

Freelander 1 Can anyone’s Identify this connector

Spotted this seemingly unused connector hiding behind the engine bay fuse box, does anyone have any idea what it is for?

    Diesel Particulate Filters

A spokesman for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency said: "DVSA is making further changes to the MOT manual and to the diesel emissions limits for modern vehicles, in May 2018. "These will make the test more robust and better able to detect where emissions control equipment has been...

What have you done to your Freelander today

You have been busy recently. Ive got a list of things that need doIng, and a longer list of things I’d like to do. One of the joys of owning a Freelander I guess.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted a set of silicone hoses to replace the original rubbers which were very spongy indeed. Cleaned my egr valve out, fitted a new crankcase filter and a new turbo vent filter. To round off the day I applied a liberal amount gunk to my engine and rinsed it off. A day well spent.

Drivers/offside heated seat switch for 2004 model

Are the passenger and drivers switches not then same? Without going out to look at mine I think they are except possibly the way the graphic of the seat faces.

    FL1 OBD2 port

I stand corrected, on closer scrutiny of the photo I can see that the ELM should fit the port.

    FL1 OBD2 port

The final confirmation that you probably need something more specific to your '99 vehicle is that the ELM dongle has a different profile to the port shown in your photo so would not fit.

    FL1 OBD2 port

The OBD port on my 2005 Td4 is next the pollen filter in the passenger footwell. I can't make out if thats where yours is from the photo. I bought a cheap ELM dongle off eBay just to try it out with my iPhone, and it works surprisingly well, despite the listing saying it would not work with a...

Freelander 1 What size wheels and which tyres for a bit of green lane driving?

You may be thinking of the Grabber AT tyre which is a bit of a compromise for road use but certainly looks the part and fills up those arches very nicely indeed. The are very popular with Landy owners and you can probably find some pics with a search. They are about £110 each i think, no doubt...
