    Firing on three cylinders?

tested and yes - completely nackered. The guy actually laughed and asked me if the engine actually ran. He laughed more when I told him I did over 600 miles in it to wales and back :) Anyway off to find a new head - anyone got opinions about Turner Engineering? Or should I just ebay an new...

disco 300 tdi on biodiesel is it ok? what kind of fuel pump has it

I've run mine on veggie oil for over a year now and as I understand it the challenges are much the same as Biodiesel. Whilst I've had problems with the landy, nothing has been down to the veggie oil. I've run various blends and added a heater block to de-gel the veggie oil (you can get an idea...

    Firing on three cylinders?

Took the cylinder head off and found cylinder 2 & 3 full of water :(. Gonna put a new gasket on etc, but I've also found a couple of cracks on the cylinder head just under the glow plugs. I assume this is not normal wear and tear - is it worth me getting a new head or just chance it and see...

3 point seat belt's for my 7 seater

Whilst my landy is laid up with a few problems I've been thinking about the next major thing the wife is going to want... propa seat belts in the middle and rear two seats for the sprogs. Anyone know if there is a kit out there to convert the lap belts into real seat belts?

    Firing on three cylinders?

Things have taken a turn for the worse - loads of white smoke when accelerating from a long downhill decent. I'm also loosing about half a litre of water a day. Oil and water look ok and there are no signs of leaks. I'm running on 50% or less of veggie oil and reducing the amount of veggie...

    Firing on three cylinders?

Fuel lift pump done and I've checked removed all gunge from the breather from the cyclone to the air intake at the same time (if it wasn't blocked it was close!). No progress so far. Where is the sediment trap? I've had a look around the fuel tank and followed the line back to the engine...

    Firing on three cylinders?

Thanks for the advise so far. I've changed the fuel filter again just in case - didn't seem to make any difference. Tried the loosening off of the nut on the top of the injectors, but apart from making a right ole mess, there seemed to be no difference between any of them. Is there an easy...

    Firing on three cylinders?

I've a 300tdi and it feels like it not running on all cylinders all of the time. Quite often it's fine then it goes very rough with a lot of feedback through the transmission and it sounds like it's not running on all cylinders. I've run a couple of bottles of injection cleaner through it now...

Can't turn the key in the ignition!!

I had the same thing, rather annoying. Replaced the whole lock only to find that I had a tiny bit of swarf in mine. Not a difficult job to replace though.

Gear box oil change, yes or no?

transfer box done and all ok, diff's and swivels were planned for this weekend, but it looks like I may have to replace the steering pump as the bearing is squeaking something chronic and it's started leaking steering fluid (gone through a litre this week already). Never a weekend goes buy...

Gear box oil change, yes or no?

I changed the gearbox oil this weekend in mine - it was black and well a bit 'lumpy'. I'm guessing it's never been changed (130K miles, 300tdi) but it looks like either something has got in there and contaminated it or someone has put the wrong stuff in there. Anyone else got any thoughts? Do...

Tax free bio diesel is coming !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure about the S3. Things to think about are: what type of fuel pump is it (Lucas pumps are not good to run straight veggie oil - i.e. td5); does it have a cat (pure unheated svo can damage the cat); and lastly the outdoor temp (I wouldnt run a blend unheated at a temp of less than 10...

Tax free bio diesel is coming !!!!!!!!!!!

Incidentally, if you wanted to try veggie oil in your landy and you have a 200 or 300 tdi, you can (in warm weather) run a 60/40 diesel/veggie oil mix with no probs. I run with at least 20% veggie in the summer months. Use filtered used oil if you can as it burns better. If you want a real...

Clunk with clutch, crunch into second

Anyone got any thought's on what is likely to be causing my 'clunk' sound every time I bring the clutch up and the crunch I'm getting going into second? It's a 300tdi 95.

Tax free bio diesel is coming !!!!!!!!!!!

Be cautious all, BioDiesel does incur fuel duty to pay unless it's included in the price sold to you. Veggie Oil also requires duty to be paid. But if you've any sense you'd build/buy a filter kit and help all the local chippies and fast food places recycle their vast quantity of waste veggie...

    nasty noise on start up

Ok, I've no idea what the problem was, but when my cambelt was changed yesterday I ask them to add some molyslip (another ebay special) to top the oil back up. Today there is no noise... so it could be something they touched doing the cambelt or the good ole molyslip stuff.

What's the best mostly on-road suspention kit?

yea, but the bushes are gone, dampers need replacing, and LR own brand stuff is way too expensive.... recommendations so far are the britpart branded kit.

What's the best mostly on-road suspention kit?

Hi all, I was looking just to replace the bushes on my 95 300tdi disco, but I've just had a windfall from some old junk on ebay, so now I'm looking at replacing the shocks/springs as well. There are a lot of kits out there, does anyone have any recommendations for a good mostly on road kit...

    Green Landrover Newbie

Hi all! Just a quick note to introduce myself to the forum... I'm a greenie, so not someone you would expect to have a 4x4, but we have a disco 300tdi currently running on rocket fuel (biodiesel) with plans for a straight veggie oil conversion shortly. I hope to convince people that 4x4...
