    help needed please

When you changed the fuel filter did you discard the fuel in the filter or did you pour it back into the new filter? Also change the fuel lift pump - only a few quid from paddocks and easy to do. Mine had a similar problem and it turned out to be a combination of the two.

What engine is in my series iia?

Can anyone link me to their pictures of a 2.5 n/a sherpa engine in their series? I just want to get a reference so that I know what they should look like! Thanks.

Sparks all around - will 240V AC do though?

Ok - I can take a subtle hint - it sounds like doing it propa is the way forward. Sounds like someone beat me to the thought of mains cable though - just about everything has been rewired using red solid mains cable. They have very nicely tagged everything, but all the writing has long since...

White and black slimey rocker cover

Just started to look at the 2.5 N/A engine in my IIA 109 - it run's fine so it just basic maintenance and checking everything that I can easily get at. First stop the water - ohh and there is oil in it. Second stop the rocker cover - nice white and black slime. I'm guessing it's not been...

Sparks all around - will 240V AC do though?

I get sparks all the time when the battery is plugged in (it does start - just - but that makes the spark show more fun). I'll take the hint though ... propa stuff is the way to go. got a nice cheap battery off fleabay last week - a massive brand new ranger rover one, perhaps slight overkill...

Sparks all around - will 240V AC do though?

I'm getting a good deal of sparks from just about everywhere there is a wire on my IIA - is it worth me re-doing my own wiring loom and if so can I use (the right sized) AC mains type cables as I have loads of old red and black stuff and it would be easy to strip out the red and black wires.

What engine is in my series iia?

Bit more detail here... Engine number appears to start 14J... Also there are a lot of wires just hanging around - connected to something at one end and sparking a lot. It's going to be interested to see what the heck someone has done with this poor old thing.

What engine is in my series iia?

I'll post another pic tomorrow for confirmation. If it's a sherpa unit what are the differences to a standard landy 2.5 n/a unit (are there any)?

What engine is in my series iia?

Chassis number shows it should be a standard petrol 2.25 unit, but it's not and I don't think it looks like any other 2.25 diesel I've seen. Is it a 2.5 n/a unit? and a great shot of the 6 tone 50 tune siren with led cab controls (no honest - someone put it in there) - oh and the oil...

300TDI mangled air filter - any ideas?

sounds like a good excuse to the missis for a snorkel :D

300TDI mangled air filter - any ideas?

I've got a feeling it was britpart. I did do a bit of wading a few weeks ago, but nothing serious. I do get a lot of spray from the wheels (usually enough to cover the windscreen even at low speeds) - I wonder if the wheels are kicking up a shed load of water either heading into the engine bay...

300TDI mangled air filter - any ideas?

This is the second time I've had a filter like this - only about 1K miles after installation. Any idea why it's happening?

What welder to buy for a beginner?

With my series IIA comming shortly and loads of work still to go on the disco, I wanted to have a go doing some of the welding myself. Partly cos I'm cheap and don't want to keep paying people but I would also like to learn a little and have a go. I've loads of scrap metal around to practice...

    Flog it or keep it

that's a great price, I can't seem to get a quote for less than £100 for a day. Where did you hire yours from?

    Flog it or keep it

Well the Series IIA will be arriving as soon as I can find somewhere to rent me a car trailer thingy at a reasonable cost. So now what do I do with the Disco 300TDI.... do I keep it (with a view to reuse what I can from it) or flog it to get the cash to work on the IIA?

    Electric rear windows not working

mine stopped working a while ago and I traced it to a fuse under the passenger seat (not in the manuals etc). So no idea what's going on with my dodgy disco!
