i have tried wriggling the relays and fuses but no difference. Like i said, the diagnostics man was wriggling the main engine loom and did recreate the fault. However, i have now repaired the only broken wire i could see and no matter how much i pull the loom about cannot get it to do it again...

Thanks for all the replies. So im looking for a 994. I have just got a quote of £165 to fit the pump which is from a landrover specialist which i thought was fairly reasonable and local to me too.

Are all P38 Injector pumps the same? They all look identical but do they all interchange OK? What would be a good price to have the pump fitted?

hi wammers, is that definite? i didnt have a temp gauge at all and when i was looking around the other day noticed that the blue plug wasnt plugged in. I plugged it in and now have a temp gauge readout on dash

thanks for that, i thought the l322 was slightly narrower. i know the tailgate from the l322 is approximately 30mm narrower than the p38.

Thats how i feel about my P38 DSE. I used to have a petrol which had no end of problems so thought not alot can go wrong with a diesel. Was i wrong :mad:

Ive just fitted a Britpart in tank pump and it is drawing 7.6Amps. Any thoughts on this anyone?

ive done the in tank pump but this wouldnt stop it starting. It does look like it is going to be the fuel quantity sensor which is internal to the injector pump :( Will hopefully find out friday after the diagnostics. Ive been told my pump wont be worth overhauling as it has 200k miles on it
