Disco 2 loss of power on motorway help needed parked up

Probably grasping at straws. Just had another browse through the LR manual, may be worth checking the ECT Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. It may be the cause of it starting but then running badly as it warms up. But it should bring up the engine check light if its failed, could be a bad...

Disco 2 loss of power on motorway help needed parked up

If you do suspect the harness, it is possible to clean out your old one. Mine had been replaced before I bought the car but the red plug was not part of the harness that gets replaced, so a harness change doesnt always solve the problem (which I still maintain is not always the issue, the...

Disco 2 loss of power on motorway help needed parked up

To quote Conan Doyle, "when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable must be the truth! It wouldnt be the first time diesel has been contaminated with petrol, usually the other way round though. Could be worth calling the garage and seeing if others have reported...

Tyres General AT2 v Kumho Road Venture MT and sizes

Hi my D2 came with G Grabber AT, 255/60 R18. They score F and F for wet grip and economy in official ratings. I was going to ditch them and fit "posh" tyres, BUT, having put 4000 miles on them since Sept, I can say they are very good! Good wet grip, good dry grip, still get 33 MPG at 65...

    Discovery TD5 Back Ache?!

Hi Toby and welcome. As someone who has had on/off back issues for the last 25 years I thought Id chip in with some comments! Firstly you may want to think twice about seeing a Doctor, I have had MUCH better results seeing a Chiro, Docs will just dish out anti inflammatory drugs and pain...

    Welderchris intro

Hi Chris Interesting project 6x6 LR. Many many years ago I read a book of compiled road tests on Land Rovers, one of them was a quite detailed story about two guys who built a 6x6 LR and drove it from the UK through Africa. If I recall they modified the rear axle to pass drive through to...

    Hello! New D2 owner

Hi Thanks for the nice feedback guys! It came with the winch, it was owned by a group who did "Rapid response". Seems to work ok, not sure of the rating as its well and truly buried behind the bumper, but its got a nice Dyneema Bowrope long rope on it! Mark

    Hello! New D2 owner

Hello, Im Mark, and yes, I am a Land Rover owner, I simply couldn't help myself! Been driving for many years, 30+, but first time LR owner. I chose the D2 commercial because it ticked a few boxes: DIY Repairable No Benefit in Kind (run as company car) the V5 states its a "light goods...
