Update for me:- Now have Diagnostics: TF930 which is basic but covers Defenders, Discos 2, 3 and 4, P38 Rangies and later, Freelanders... and Jaguars! Can't reprogram but rear and clear faults. Hawkeye for D2 TD5 Thanks fanny et al. UPDATED

Is the Hawkeye unlocked for TD5 D2 only? Are the brake lines a full set? Cheers.

No idea really apart from plugging it into a nanocom, hawkeye or testbook & seeing what fault codes come up.

Last week I got a settlement figure for my written off D2 as she's "uneconomical to repair". However, seeing as it's just both nearside doors which are dented she's still roadworthy & indeed driveable. In her dented state she achieved a current MOT. During the entire process after the accident...

Perhaps use some switch cleaner - the stuff you use for cleaning electrical contacts which should not harm any wiring ;)

I had a non fault in my D2 about a week after the OPs accident! Similar type of incident - the other guy drove into the nearside - he'd crossed the give way line at the junction, admitted liability. Incidentally the other party's insurers were LV.. Got the payout last week. Net effect is same...

What codes does it throw up? If you want to try my diagnostic, by all means give us a shout. It may only be the Terrafirma one, but it'd be interesting to see what it sees on the ABS side.

Axle seal. NOTE - I had a similar problem with a REAR wheel. However, that was the wheel hub itself allowing the axle oil to seep past the bearings and get flung on to the disc. The front wheel hubs aren't in contact with the axle oil - that's why they don't have/need an o-ring fitted when you...

That black bit is probably a repaint, or perhaps a strip of vinyl to cover up/protect that part of the roof from getting stone chips on it ;) Looking at the chips on my D2, I'd need a similar sized strip. :o

Have the springs broken off I wonder and are lying behind the dashboard?

My 2001 TD5 doesn't have a cat, or DPF. A local LR dealership should be able to check via the VIN number what state the Disco left the factory in (mine definitely was "non-catalyst").

It may have had the airbags swapped for springs. Similarly, the ACE system may have been removed. Is there still a button on the dashboard below the HDC button showing a Disco with the back end jacked up? (That's the ride height command switch to gain more rear ground clearance off road with...
