have already done those bits and same results, it runs and does the same on lpg. however when i drove it last night to show a mate to see if he could shed any light on it i noticed tha there apears to be an earthing issue as when i press the brake some lights on dashboard are trying to light up...

when it starts to act up, it starts to surge and cut out becomes very jerky as if its hunting for something (spark/fuel/air) then completely fails, when then it refuses to start but will turn over okay. If then left for a while it will start back up but then it does it all over again but randomly.

tried all this and also does exactly the same on lpg, which uses the venturi of the carb all leccy bits have been changed for second time so all new.

do not quote me on this but i was told that the difference between these are 7:1 is the old leaded head and 8:1 the unleaded, the diff being 8:1 harder valve seats to cope with hotter running fuel ( unleaded ).

had this with my s III cable from light switch (dipped beam) had a break in it and would work sometimes, then packed completely on its mot light test, i just replaced wire from switch to bulb works great. hope this helps
