    Clutch and Fly wheel change

Got a noisy spigot bearing, but only when backing off the drive from cold in a morning. Clutch still fine so I'm waiting. Anyone recommend a decent clutch/flywheel kit. Heard of the solid fly wheels, but I hear the Britpart ones are crap...! Any thoughts.

    Quick MAF question

    Warning Light Problem

Just had this and fortunately just a FOS speed sensor replacement. Job done. It's usually just a sensor, but strange you've not got fault codes...?! What garage is it..?

    Relacement key/programing

No, but it looks decent enough. I presume it starts the car too and works the immobiliser. Let us know how you get on with it if ordered.

    Disco 2 TD5 Remap ?

I've had a stage 1 and stage 2 job done on D2 auto's and the stage 1 is very good. The stage 2 is better, especially when it comes to the grunt and torque, but not sure it's worth the extra £500 or so it costs for the stage 2. Alive tuning I use in Grimsby and Gary is great. Also they do some...

    My first Landy service

Should have got a £25 EGR blanking kit and a £19 Britpart performance air filter while you were at it. Get the MAP sensor cleaned with brake cleaner at the same time. Then you can start doing all the other little tweaks. Or like me, when you get a Disco get them all done at once, because I just...

td5 starts then conks out please help

I'm no mechanic but our own mechanic did it. Remove rocker cover and the round black plastic camshaft cover at front of engine. Obviously remove fan and cowling over fan. Remove one of the bolts in the end of the camshaft just to check if the bolt hole is aligned in the middle of the oval slot...

td5 starts then conks out please help

Well mine was timing out. Just adjusted the camshaft back into position. Not sure why it was out but I had exact same issues. Now runs great.

Help I think my turbos blown

It would be about £2k tops for replacing the head. Could it just be injector seals...?

Help I think my turbos blown

That sounds like fuel getting into sump and then into turbo. Check oil level and smell for diesel in oil. Hopefully it's injector seals and not cracked head.

Removing heater panel, with a hammer :)

Remove the ashtray, coin holder and drinks holder by removing the three screws either side behind the ashtray and coin holder. Then the clock and bottons to right can pop out, but I think you can still push on the tabs either side of the heater control panel to push it out without clock etc out...

    D2 Who would buy another

The simple answer is that there's simply nothing out there to come close to the Disco 2 in terms of all round value, comfort, practicality and the most important one of all....sheer driving pleasure. Look after it and it'll look after you. And I've had loads of D2's. I once had something else...

td5 quite sluggish feels like no turbo

Well it's a fact the camshaft was not in the correct position. They showed me how it had rotated slightly out of alignment when looking through the front of the engine at the three crank bolt with one of the bolts removed the round hole was not centred with the elliptical hole. He said the peg...

Rough Running Disco 2.......with white smoke.

Well I've just has mine sorted today. Very easy fix really. I had the timing checked and it was out. So much so that it caused the poor starting too. Quick adjustment and it starts on the button and drives like a train thanks to the Alive Tuning Stage 2 that was already fitted. Very happy. Well...

td5 quite sluggish feels like no turbo

I've just had that problem aswell as poor starting. It turned out to simply be the timing was out. Took it to local Indy Landrover and checked and adjusted within the hour and now she's awesome :-)

Poor Starting and white smoke - going crazy

SOLVED...!!!!!! OMG the feeling inside of me when this actually worked. So bloody simple really...!! It was the timing that was out. Turned out to be quite a bit out. Less than an hour at Doug Dransfields in Sheffield today had it checked and adjusted. All those symptoms and such a simple fix...

Poor Starting and white smoke - going crazy

Yes obviously. That said (although I haven't had a compression test) everyone who's looked at it says the engine is fine. Local Landy Indy says can only test 4 pots anyway for compression. Is this correct...? They suggest sounds like a timing issue. Would out of timing have show up on live data...

Poor Starting and white smoke - going crazy

Well it does sound like I am but I've had it to two local specialists now, both with textbook. Both are going down the line of let's just try the usual things and hope it fixes. The bloody first one even put black top injectors in my 15p engine. Anyway this is why I'm asking on here because I...

Poor Starting and white smoke - going crazy

Thanks for the reply. I understand what your saying however I've read that things can go wrong with such things without faults recorded. I may be wrong or just wisful thinking...! But right now I'd take a bit of wishful thinking to keep my faith.

Poor Starting and white smoke - going crazy

No they didn't test anything. I just told them the history of the problem but they have suggestions at all. I'm just wanting to know if duff crank sensor or duff signal from it would give not only lumpy running, but some acceleration hesitation....?
