Get the Disco. It's a 'no brainer'. The seats come out easy. It's getting them back in on your own thats a pain. Especially when the spring goes off and your fingers are in the way...! Suspension isnt too bad and if you really get your leg in with the suspension then just get springs fitted.

They do fit (with spigots etc), but they are too extreme I found when I bought a D2 with them on. I removed them for 18" at the time.

If it's just for road use I'd say you're ok with 18". Yes I'd say the 16" is a slightly softer ride, but I've actually got 19" RR Vogue alloys on and I think it's better than the 16" I had on. Feels tighter and sturdier on the road. Your mates probably just wanting yours to liike as bad as his...

What Sierra said. I've just done the o/s front and rear with same problem. It may be a false economy but I fitted used ones, I got for £20 each. New on ebay etc are around £85 each.

I have 5 Hurricane alloys I've just taken off my disco 2 fitted with Goodyear Wrangler tyres with 5-5.5mm tread left. 4mm left on one of them. Alloys not kerb but a couple have a very minor 1" scratch on one. I'm in South Yorkshire for collection. £250. I may sell separately...?

I know I keep mentioning it but an easy check is to have the timing checked. Best to take it to a Landy Indy for that. If you don't know when injector seals have been done get those changed while doing this bit. Also the injector harness if that shows signs of oil in plug at front of rocker or...

I suppose it could be possible you had two issues. The D&M and no gears issue could be XYZ switch playing up and the temp could be needed oil change which you've done because it's getting too hot for the old oil you had in while under towing load. Would be a coincidence they happened together...

Landy Indy I use informed me an intermittent fault that's cleared when you switch off and back on can be indicative of shuttle valve issue. Could just be the switch or the valve but I can't remember what exactly the difference in code is. Sure some boffin on here will know though.
