Just had my Head Gasket replaced at 140k and I said it to the mech (having read a post here) about replacing the timing belt and water pump when doing the gasket. He said the timing belt was done at 112k ( which it was) and there was no need. Any opinions?

Hi, I have an SIII 109 "safari" 1978 at home ( Ireland), her timing chain went a few years ago and she has sat out in the elements since. Her body work is good, all windows good ( except door tops) and her interior is in good condition but her chassis is poor. What is a vehicle like this worth?

Fair enough Mad Hat - but I'd expect it to say that for regular engines ie every 500ml to 50 lts every 4000 miles etc but for regular use I'm not sure, the STP cleaner product I've used says not to over use the product ( ie after every 4000 miles ) - I'm sure Redex is the same unless its a...

Thanks for info, I think the stuff I use is for cleaning general petrol engines, is the gear you're using still causing fouling? But it sounds a bit better than what I'm using, do you add it with each fill?
