The Nanocom evolution is a great product, but since BBS took over there have been no updates released, no bug fixes offered and they aren't responding to users queries. At least with the Hawkeye you'd have decent support and timely updates.

If I had to buy now i'd buy a hawkeye.

Hey Gerhard, It's been a month since BB took over from Mattia. Have they responded and resolved your issue for you?

Indeed. Did that in the end. But the company insists that all transactions are dealt with via the website and email; you can't order or pay over the phone. You'd think they'd be on the ball with emails after they've taken you money :rolleyes:

Ah. That's the secret :) I used a britpart fuel filter once. The filter part seemed fine, but the outer shell rotted away and leaked.

When you do eventually get a response from them, in order to get a faulty item returned you have to get their returns form. Complete it and send it back with the part. Then wait whilst they return the part to their suppliers. IF their suppliers agree that the part is faulty and it wasn't caused...

Their prices are fine. Their customer service is ****e. Trying to exchange a faulty item with them is not the easiest of things to do.

Just checked for you, the Disco 1 haynes book of lies doesn't mention a torque setting either. :(

That's the point. It's not needed for the V1, but offering it would have given folks a warm fuzzy feeling and they would be much more likely to upgrade having felt welcomed by the new company. Oh it is. Much better than Mattia going bust and being stuck with what they have now, but see the...

I was referring to both Nanocom V1 and Evolution users regarding the forum access. Irrespective of that; this handover could have been managed in such a way as to make existing users feel secure, supported and appreciated. Adding a forum entry from V1 users and accomodating existing Evolution...

I wouldn't expect any more, but it's a poor show to not allow existing users access to a simple thing such as a forum. I guess after reading the press release of BB suggesting that things would be better for "everyone" I thought that we'd all be treated the same. Just one happy Nanocom family...

If it does turn out that they ignore existing Evolution users i'd be tempted to dump the code from the unit and see what could be done as an open source effort.
