If your worried, open the bleed screw on the injector pump and turn the engine over - a jut of fuel should spray out - and yes if the diaphram is being held compressed by the cam it will not pump very well using the handle

How hard are you putting your foot down? Its not the ABS kicking in is it? If not Its either the discs or the anti vibration plates between the pads and the pistons are not in place (thin bit of metal plate that is ment to lie between the piston and the pads inside the calipers)

Like Pos said , I suspect it may have just been caked in mud and never cleaned, or you use it to carry salt around in! May be time to remove body, and replace the frame with a nice new galv one - depends how much its worth - you may make more by selling the engine, gearboxes, seats, trim...

Make sure the new filter is not wet as well as if you have a load of water at te bottom of the tqkn and it has now pulled water through he filter the water will block the filter paper and prevent the oil going through as quickly/at all

Fuel starvation as a vacume inside the tank reduces the amount of fuel the lift pump can bring up and also draws fuel back from the return pipe, and hence causes the fuel not to flow around the system as well as it should the main symptom is a woosh of air when you take the filler cap off
