    Are Freebies Fragile?

I know that they can break no matter how careful you are with them but my question is if they are more likely to break if not treated with kid gloves. Cheers Rog

    Wtf Freelander!!!!

That's a fair comment - Easier to hide welds, mountings, constructed bolt points, etc if you don't have to muck about with the "body". Matching wheelbases would leave most of the bodging out of sight. Cheers Rog

    Are Freebies Fragile?

We all know the foibles and common issues related to Freebie ownership but my question is whether a Freebie is more or less likely to go wrong depending on how you treat it? I don't mean one that's led a hard life in a quarry or in the outback but just one that has been subjected to the odd...

    Turbo Question

Sounds fine. Can't feel the turbo on mine. Pulls pretty strongly all the way through the revs. No surge at all. My diesel new shape Laguna was the same (although that had bad turbo lag if you got the gears wrong!). Only modern turbo diesel I've "felt" the turbo was my Golf GT TDI that I had...

Overheating 1.8 petrol at high revs

If your engine is overheating you can release some of the heat by running it through the heater matrix/system and out into the air in the cabin. This is typical of any overheating car and (unfortunately) not any indication of the cause. Cheers Rog

    Parking Sensors

One thing you can check is to turn the ignition on and put the car in reverse. Go round the back and put your finger on each of the sensors. You should be able to feel a slight pulse in each one which indicated the sensors are working. If none are pulsing they are not getting power. Check...

    LPG fitted to 1.8 Freelander

takes about 48L, even though the lpg certificate states 60L This is normal. LPG tanks always take less than their capacity. Something to do with the compression of the gas versus liquid. Do a quick Google for more info. Around town, I get about 160 miles before it runs out and motorway 210...

    Parking Sensors

Parking sensors? Really? It's just that Ken doesn't sound like a girl's name... Lots of choice where to get parking sensors (Main Dealers, eBay, Independant parts places). Not a great deal to choose between them (except price!) but I wouldn't bother with ones with LED "visual" displays. A...

    Freelander conversion

    1) Does one have to pay some tax / VAT to the DVLA when converting a commercial van to a car or its just doing the conversion and informing the DVLA and insurance? You will definitely need to inform your insurance company. Any mod should be reported to them to avoid possibility of claims/cover...

    new td4 owner

Very simply, you need to decide if you really want the car. If you do, let them carry on and take delivery of the car. If you don't ask for your deposit back - You have enough reason if this is the route you want to take. Cheers Rog
