You haven't said exactly what model (Xdi, XEdi, wtc), how many doors or the mileage. Assuming an Xdi 5 door with average (90K) miles a private seller should not be asking for anything over £2K. £2500 therefore sounds a bit steep. PM or post the exact model details and I can gove you an exact...

You don't say if you have a manual or an auto? If it's an auto 33mpg is about right. If you have a manual then the mpg is a bit low. I don't make an effort to drive economically (but I don't thrash it either!) and I get 38-40mpg on average. Cheers Rog

Loose cable behind HDC switch on gearstick. To fix this you need to lift the gaitor of the gearstick and have a look at the connections of the wires to the back of the switch. They may just need reseating or may require a bit of a cleanup and/or some WD40. Cheers Rog

From the description (and assuming the engine still runs) sounds more like auxillary belt to me. Dash lights caused due to electrics out when belt is off alternator. Also, he would be a very talented AA man to see the cam belt gone with a quick visual, external examination of the engine...

Either dodgy wiring to HDC switch under gear shift gaitor or dodgy brake light switch. Search for either on here and you will find it. Easy fixes. Cheers Rog

Dealer had to put a couple of bits right when I bought it 7 months ago but since then my TD4 has needed the following: Brake light switch (£6) Road tax (£112) Diesel (39 mpg average) Will need some tyres soon. Overall, very happy and much more reliable than the X-Trail I had before...

I assume that you are using a torx head to try and get the screws out? A normal phillips will wreck them... Cheers Rog
