Dunno.. the one's I've got are, Wellman G603, OEM LR I'm told. Cost about £30 for four. I do wonder if Bosch plugs might be better though.

Plugs are new, just put them in a few weeks ago. I'll have them out at somepoint to see if they really do glow when they're energized, but still on the loom. That's what I was thinking.. shame I didn't get round to it before this cold weather hit. Might wire the relay from the ignition switch...

buggeration.. looks like I'll have to whip them out this weekend to see if they're glowing or not. Temp down to -8 this morning, and it just wouldn't fire. Ran the battery down in the end. Might have to rig a relay into the circuit sooner than I'd hoped.

Shame they don't think like that. To these scroats its just a bad day at the office when they run into the law. They'll be out again tomorrow doing the same job.

Thanks.. IIRC the battery dips to about 10v then stabilizes about 12.50. No relay, this is pre-relay so the current is fed through the ignition switch to the plugs. I should really fit a relay, but need to work out if there's a problem here first.

Hi all, Does anyone know what the correct voltage should be at each glow plug? This is on a 1987 2.5na 12J, with plugs in parrallel. I'm seeing between 6 and 8 volts depending on which plug. 8 nearest the bulkhead, down to 6 at the front. I'm testing by putting a multimeter across the plug...

I do it all the time. A tad easier with a rev counter though. It takes practice to be able to do it on the down shift too, but once you've mastered it its no bother. I've been doing it in all sort of vehicles for years, never had any problems, but someone did tell me once that it knackers...

what are the implications if the towee's vehicle gets damaged - their tow eye pops out or something worse? I guess if you're not charging them - tuff tits?

depends if the seat rails need to be replaced, you might have some drilling to do. Some early seat rails fixed with two bolts on the front end, later ones had a single bolt in the middle of the rail. Like this and this..
