One day into Landy Land and already hooked!

Hi Dave from just the other side of the border. Well, and west a bit :)

Gaylander? What gave you that idea? Is a gaylander fender shaped in US? I've Never even sat in a gaylander let alone driven one.

I think the lanes are a bit tame around here

So, there I was bumping along the Ickneld way in Suffolk when I was passed by someone in a Ford Focus going at a fair old lick. She bounced along without a care in the world and disappeared into the distance. It wasn't an old wreck but a nice road going car. It might be a bit of wreck now I...

Does anyone here go green laning in Norfolk?

Yep, totally agree. But boggy in places as well. But that's where I live. It's a bit far to head up to my mum's in the Cairngorms every time I want to go green laning :) There are lanes around here that you wouldn't get a car down.

Does anyone here go green laning in Norfolk?

Yes, the lanes around here are pretty gentle. I've a few more I've found to explore. I've joined the Suffolk LRO club forum but haven't stuck my head above the parapet yet :) I figure I need to join a local club but hard to tell who. One is all on facebook and seems largely into trials...

    Land Rovers and L.A.

Sounds a lot like down here in southern England as well :) On snowy days I more worried about the other drivers than I am about the snow and ice!

    Hand brake MOT

They did the same with mine which worried me as well. It passed but they said it pulled to one side! Baffled me a bit.

Can I put windows in the back...?

It's simple enough. Just mark out, cut and fit the windows. Or, buy side panels with windows already fitted. You can physically add seating in the back but I'm not sure where you stand with insurance etc if you do.

Does anyone here go green laning in Norfolk?

Hi all I'm looking to meet up with others that go green landing around the Thetford area, or further afield in Norfolk and Suffolk. I don't know that many 4x4 owners. I can, and have found and check the status of, BOATS in the area and driven a few of the gentle ones, that I have pretty...

    Roych

I'm a walker and a 4x4 driver. (I don't own a bobble hat though) I see damage caused by walkers on very popular routes that is far worse than many of the 'look what the evil offroaders did to our lane' photos the anti's use on their websites. I assume when they've shut us out of everywhere...

what paint code is this blue? 1997 90

Looks a bit like mine which is apparently Marine Blue. However, mine's 10 years older than yours so may not be exactly the same.

The one's I've seen on there look suspiciously like Lasalle ones and not land rover.

    Electrical issues

I had all sorts of wierd problems after I last replaced the gearbox. Horn wouldn't work when the lights were on, radio turned off when I turned on the wipers, washer worked on minute and not the next. I'd forgotten to put the earth between my gearbox and the body back on. Mine has one big...

    headlining

I've been looking for one as well but I've been told they didn't make them. So, now I'm looking for a roof with Apline windows and no sunroof. They seem to be as rare as rocking horse **** as well.

Financing, never done it and have some questions

Just get a loan from the bank, or wherever you can get the best rate from, for the rest. So, if you raise 4.5k you need a loan for 2k then buy the car with cash. The length of time you are paying it for really depends on your own financial circumstances and how much you need to borrow...

    Driveway protection...

Mine doesn't leak, and no it's not run out of fluids :) , but occasionally friends put a large drip tray underneath when I park in their driveway. They just assume it leaks :)

    Electrical issues

It could be the whole indicator light, not the bulb but the socket. They corrode and cause a whole set of problems of their own. I got so fed up nursing them I took the lot out and fitted LEDs

I believe so. He was last month when he fitted mine. He did try hiding from me when I turned up though :)
