There's a Land Rover water ingress manual kicking around the web somewhere. Tells you where all the common leaks are and how to fix them.

    Have i got a ringer

Oh, and the X in the list isn't the reg year, as in the character on the reg plate, it's the character in the VIN number

    Have i got a ringer

Ah, didn't realise it's meant to be a 97. Definitely looks a suspect then. 2 VINs is not a good sign.

    Have i got a ringer

A lot of the VIN decoders don't know about the VINs after 2009 by the looks of it. If I was the owner I'd start with a quick call to Land Rover themselves first thing tomorrow and get them to check. If these VIN decoders are coming back with 87 and they don't know about 2011 then it's quite...

Then they went to numbers and ran out. VIN's reuse characters over time so it is possible for B to mean 2 different years.

    Have i got a ringer

I don't think you have a problem. The model year character reached 9 in 2009 so would have started again. 2010 A 2011 B I suspect the VIN is correct and MOT guy read it incorrectly

What have you done to your Landie today.

Fitted the new transfer box, now I can hear the radio! (Thanks James Martin, works a treat) Took her for a test run along a really gentle green lane. Part way along I heard a horrible noise that seemed to be coming from the front. It sounded like something was knackered in the diff. Got out and...

    V8 110 1984 help please.

When I did mine I just hired an engine hoist. Stripped the front of the Landy, whipped out the engine and gearbox complete, stuck the new stuff together and stuck it back in. However, mine was a TD to TDi so no moving of engine mounts or gearbox changes etc. I think you'd need a different...
