    Hippo 2 wheel drive conversion

@ Steve, The props don't really weigh enough to damage the UJs to be honest, although, dont let them bend more than 45degrees. Also, no need to mark the props against the pinion/ rear diff as it would make no difference what so ever what way it goes back on.

    AT tyres vs road tyres

Personally i use nothing but A/Ts on my Hippo. I feel they are better all round apart from a little more road noise.

    Hippo 2 wheel drive conversion

Cheers Ming... It really is an easy job if you don't mind a bit of spannering! Also, i should point out that this mod requires you to inform your insurance company as it may invalidate your insurance if you ever need to claim.

Truth be told, it only took me an hour and a half from start to finish, with the odd ciggie in between. If you blank off the IRD, you will stop the vibration when taking off! You can get the plate from here... eBay.ie: Freelander IRD Transfer Gearbox Blanking Plate (item 290452025622 end time...

Hi Para, strange as it may sound, its the replacement key that works fine. Its the original key that looks to be buggered! Quick update... Checked the VCU thoroughly today, and it looks to be in perfect working order. However, the bearings look to be completely shot! I could "wiggle" the prop...
