    Ipod adaptor for Discovery 2 TD5 ?

Delighted you found a cheaper one. I bought it from a Mac dealership and only discovered it did the clever stuff by accident. I'd be interested to know what you think of the sound- you might want to try playing with the equaliser on the iPod to find the optimum sound. I reckon the best settings...

    Ipod adaptor for Discovery 2 TD5 ?

Right then, I looked at it just to be able to pass on the part number and surprise surprise, it's made by Griffin, not Belkin, and it's called a SmartDeck. Apologies all round, but Belkin and Griffin stuff is sold in all the Apple stores and in the Apple site, so I presume it's of reasonable...

    Ipod adaptor for Discovery 2 TD5 ?

I tried a cheap one,and it was not good, The Belkin works very well, the sound is comparable to a cd, better than FM radio, and much better than cassette, I reckon the cheap cassette adaptors are a false economy. G

    Ipod adaptor for Discovery 2 TD5 ?

I have a 2001 TD5 with the Harmon Kardon uprated sound system, radio controls on the steering wheel. I bought a Belkin cassette adapter, cost about 17 pounds, which plugs into the cassette slot, and, the good bit, this works the iPod controls, volume and track change. Sound us excellent, and has...

Just put my beloved Disco on Ebay - does anyone have a l/h drive Disco for sale?

Hi, I have a French registered lhd 2001 TD5 for sale - I live near Poitiers in western France. I bought it last year when we moved here, but as we have two other cars, one of them one has to go. It's metallic blue, automatic, 120k kilometres, beige leather, everything electric, including twin...

I saw a story here a week or so ago about a famer who grows rape, and filled up his tractor, and probably his cars with the rape seed oil that he made, and got fined for it.... Round here you can buy diesel for 98 centimes this week, (about 66 pence a litre for those lucky enough to live in...

    Recommended garages.

As the fairly new owner of a Dicovery TD5 who lives in France, I'm looking for a recommendation -if the forum allows such things- of an independent garage in the kent/ sussex/ southeast area, where I can drop off the car for service en route to London from the channel ports. I've searched...

Well, I went and did it!

Even more good advice, thank you. However, my days of crawling about under cars are long gone, adn I'd prefer to have someone competent todo it, even if it costs more. inthe 70's I owned a cooper s, and that needed continual maintenance, which put me off for life. The search for a garage in...

Well, I went and did it!

Ta very much - now all I need is a decent garage in the south east. My advisor(an engineer mate) told me one big difference between diesel and petorl enghines is that diesel fuel dissolves into the engine oil....!!! which apparently cuts its efficiency. As I'm driving the disco at high speed...

Well, I went and did it!

Can anyone tell me how often the oil should be changed on my 2001 TD5? I've been advised every 6000 miles- but is this so? And should it have the filter changed at the same tyime? And..... as I spend a lot of time in France, and travel throught the south east freequently, can anyone suggest a...

    biodiesel

I've spent a long time looking at how I can run an LR diesel engines on alternative fuels. From what I've read, Lucas fuel pumps seem to be unfriendly to vegetable oil, bio is less of a problem. Bosch fuel pumps appear to take it all in their stride. Ther are acres of web sites- try a...

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

I don't think Discoveries for the UK market have the same lighting configuration. Certainly the indicators are not illuminated simultaneously with the sidelights. I know this is all a bit silly, like, Oooh, look, it's got orange lights!! but I'm having difficulty disliking a car I just bought...

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

Thanks for your comment, but I tried all that stuff, The locking system I'm familiar with, I also own a Jeep, and that's standard on most US cars, I agther, has been for more than ten years. Tha problem was the rear lock, and WD40 seems to have cured it. gdb

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

Bloody good idea, but I had managed to lock the 18 year old son in the car while he attempted to open the lock from the inside, and then I wandered off leaving him in there, in the sun. for about ten minutes, It was only 25C, so it didn't hurt him, but the frantic hooting of the horn caused...

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

For the record, I prised off the logo, sprayed the lock and it seems to work. Thanks again. I thought it might have been an electrical fault. I'm still trying to work out for the manual what superlocking is, and if that caused the problem. God save WD40. gdb

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

Thanks Bazza, I will go and find the WD 40 now! The car has been on a farm here in France for a few months, and I don't think the previous owner (an Australian) ever opened the rear doors or the tailgate. I've only had the car a month, and I keep finding deposits of mud in odd places...

    HELP! Discovery 2 boot lock

I've just bought a 2002 series 2 TD5. and today the rear door won't open. It's been very well cared for, and before I have a heart attack -I like to solve these little problems myself- does anyone have any idea what I might have done, and how to undo it? I've tried the various combinations of...
