    Loose wheel !!

I'll be going back to first principles, I may not capture all the permutations this time of night, but here goes: 1. If they wish to rely on a fact which dilutes, detracts from or adds to my contractual rights then they are obliged to take overt steps to bring it to my attention, this is...

    Loose wheel !!

I plan to get the old parts and present them. Got photos already. I have already spoken to them and detected a bit of a wriggle coming on ! TBH they will get off light as the insurance covered all the recovery and hotel costs. All they have to worry about is the dealer costs and their...

    inside winch switch

I got my switch from mudstuff and routed a spare wander lead to it. Only 3 wires as you say. No relays or other stuff needed.

    Loose wheel !!

Got 5 new General Grabber AT Tyres fitted to my TD5 the day before yesterday by a local big name tyre place in Poole. We drove from Poole to Rouen, 2 hours south of Calais, with a big caravan in tow when a small vibration started. Initially I though it was a change in road surface as I was a...

If you can, choose genuine. Mostly, cheap things are cheap for a reason. Not always the case though.

Can't get it running... What's the best thing to do

You say you are using the fuel pump that was fitted to the vehicle. If the vehicle was an EFI before then the fuel pump will not be suitable for your carb set up. Either way, I would not try to run it with so much fuel getting through as you will get 'bore wash' which will trash every liner...

    Auto Box Gurgling

Yes, went through the procedure for refilling the box. Must admit, I hadn't even considered that it could be the heater matrix:doh: will check it out. Thanks for the tip.

    Auto Box Gurgling

Just recently, my 98 D1 V8 automatic gearbox has started making gurgling noises. You can hear the oil sloshing around. There aren't any leaks, the level is right, the fluid is new and it was filled up per the manual. Would this be a blocked filter or something more serious. Indicated mileage...

As I know to my own cost, cars are personal trophies. We lavish time and expertise in pursuit of our passion. Rarely, if ever, will we realise that investment. Nonetheless, we will always do more, spend more and sacrifice more. There is one life, live it. Blow the consequences .... What...

Back to a discovery finally but need help

Like you, I've been a v8 fan for a long time having had 3 v8 landys. A few months ago I bought my 300tdi because it's got no electronic wizardry to go wrong. I tweaked the fuel pump and boy, what a difference. I'm getting a full width Allisport inter cooler next week and look forward to much...

    Battery struggling

You got it fixed, so that's great. Just in case it helps anyone else, I was going to say that I had exactly the same symptoms with a twin battery set up on my 300tdi disco...... One day it was like the battery was on its way out, slow starting, sometimes not turning at all but never the tell...

I'm new to the forum and wanted to say, stunning build thread. Just spent a long time reading it all. Inspirational and well executed. Now, where's that credit card and my box of spanners:)
