thanks ellis and thanks keith. I am presuming the thin tube which slides onto the egr valve is the vaccuum supply? Why might it need connecting for the MOT? Would it increase my emmissions? I can't imagine them taking all the covers off during the MOT

haha, ok I will look into it! Is there evidence to say that EGV valves actually shorten the life on the engine? What happens to the other pipes? Also quick one for anyone- if td6 injectors are not coded- does this mean I can buy any injector e.g BMW, freelander, td6 injector for it?

Thanks Dove- will buy that now. Ellis- don't get this started again- we will be here all night! My EGR is as clean as a whistle now- but will consider blanking it in the future. How much is a blanking kit?

Thanks yes that is helpful! Took all the covers off today, changed air filter, fuel filter and thoroughly cleaned EGR valve- was pretty coked up. Took a nosey at the crankcase breather filter, not very dirty but will replace it with the cyclone variety at some point. Tried upclipping the...

fires up straight away, no hesitation- just lumpy. Months back it was a little lumpy so I put some Forte diesel treatment in and it was a lot better. What size tubing do I need? or should I buy a leak off test kit?

christ... we would be changing our gearboxes more often than our underwear! I would have thought- different injectors, obviously an ecu remap, uprated turbo and intercooler- what about a bolt on supercharger :eek:

I am not sure about this device- but I don't know if I would like some chap coming round to my house with a laptop hooking it up to my car. In the wrong hands they can ruin several settings

Zip it Ellis- you are almost as bad as my boss harping on about me NEEDING to get a mac! All very valid points SJF- Fuel filter was changed not long ago, no leaks, can hear lift pump working when key in ignition. Its a 52 plate.
