    300Tdi Discovery Autobox filter location

Just to replace the filter. I did over 35K in it and this is its first gearbox oil change. Think it deserves a new filter :) The only way I see of doing it is jacking up the gearbox at the mount and pulling the mount right off to gain access to the screw. And i think that there is plenty more...

    300Tdi Discovery Autobox filter location

I got the 9.5 liter figure from my local Land Rover parts seller. I don't actually know if it includes the pipes and the cooler. Tried to pull off the sump, everything going fine and then i come across one of the sump screws hidden behind the gearbox mount. Impossible to get a socket on it...

    300Tdi Discovery Autobox filter location

Thanks, that probably explains why i didn't see it. Should removing the filter release more ATF out of the gearbox? I didn't measure how much came out, but its not even close to 9.5 liters which is how much the box should hold.

    300Tdi Discovery Autobox filter location

Hello everyone, In the middle of changing the transmission fluids in my Discovery. Its a 1996 300Tdi auto. Drained the ATF out of the sump of the gearbox, but are unable to locate the filter. Its probably right in front of me, but i can't seem to see it. I really would appreciate if someone...

Hello everyone, Just a quick question. What is the engine coolant capacity of a 1990 2.5N/A Diesel Defender?

    Seat covers

Buckshot, the front seats might be the same as in a Disco 2, but I know that the rear ones are different. The ones from Brookwells do seem to be really good but I think they might be just a bit over my seat cover budget.

    Seat covers

They probably would slide a bit, but the seat itself is a different shape (different headrest). Bought ones on eBay just to discover that they don't fit after spending £40 on them and damaging them in the process of trying to fit them which means I can't return them- lovely. I can nip into...

    Seat covers

Hello everyone! I seem to be having difficulties finding seat covers for my 300Tdi ES Disco (leather seats). I want to protect them from wear as the drivers seat began developing a small split at the seam. As I work on building sites I also want to protect them from my dirty clothes :D...

    Auto vs Manual.

Auto is a bit dead on take off with a caravan and a bit heavier on the juice. Probably manual better for pulling even though i own a 300tdi auto myself.

    ABS warning light

First of all, we need to find the ABS warning light relay. It's in the passenger footwell, under the glove compartment. Lever out the 3 press-in studs, and the trim panel can drop. There are half a dozen relays in there. The one we're looking for is (on mine!) nearest to you, but in the second...

    ABS warning light

Problem solved! Ended up using a bit of wire to crate a bridge on the diagnostics plug so I could read the ABS fault codes. There was 4 different ones that came up, all linked to the front left wheel. I deleted all the fault codes. Took it for a spin, light still on. Read the fault codes again...

    ABS warning light

Sierraferry, while the testbook was plugged in (showing a code for a too big air gap on the front left wheel), i took the wheel off, cleaned the sensor, put it back in again and gently tapped it with a hammer. The wheel was put back on again and i was asked to take it for a spin to see if the...

    ABS warning light

Hello everyone :), I've a problem with my ABS on my 300tdi auto ES. The ABS light came on and will not go off. Took it to a Land Rover specialist which wasn't of too much help. Hooked the diagnostics on and it came up with a fault on the front left wheel- air gap too large. So i decided to...

    300Tdi Disco bad steering

Must be just a Disco thing, never heard of anyone having problems of that kind in any other 4x4. Still wouldn't change it for anything in the world :D

    300Tdi Disco bad steering

Two Pirelli Scorpions and the steering problem is completely solved. The Disco drives like a dream now! I can't believe that something as basic as bad tires would affect the steering and the handling so much. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on this one.
