    300Tdi sagging rear suspension

If mediums are available Dyte, I think I would go for them. I would be afraid that the standards would end up being the same as the ones on my Disco. As I said, most of the time I would have stuff in the back, but it would rarely exceed 70kg.

    300Tdi sagging rear suspension

Hello everyone, I am looking a bit of advice. The rear end of my 300Tdi is getting to e a bit low. I wouldn't carry much weight in it, half a tank of diesel and maybe 20kg of tools. I know that heavy duty rear springs are available, but I wouldn't want it to be too stiff as it would affect...

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

I don't have the access code (EKA) which you would enter via the drivers door lock. I can't find it in my vehicle documentation, and I don't think I ever had it. That would be a good test of knowing if the immobiliser is the problem. Reverse lights work normally. New starter solenoid fitted...

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

Do you think that running a wire from the starter solenoid to the starter relay would work? I did a search on my topic but couldn't find a solution. Some people say that the imobiliser in a EDC model is in the ECU. New one of those? :(

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

Does that mean I can't do it on a EDC model?

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

I'm confident in doing almost all mechanical work to a Land Rover, but when it comes to the electrics I'm no good! :)

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

Cleaned up all the connections and relevant earth wires and put a bit of grease to stop moisture. This happened three times in the last year.

    300Tdi Discovery EDC immobiliser bypass

Hi everyone! Had a bit of a situation today with my 300Tdi Disco. It didn't want to start, or even turn over, completely dead. All the usual lights came on the dash when the ignition was turned on, but nothing out of the starter. I suspected a faulty starter solenoid, so I replaced it as I...

    300tri belt keeps coming off

I had to replace my power steering pump as it ruined two of my belts. The power steering pump shaft begins sliding out if the pump (aprox 5-6mm) causing the pulley to be out of line.

    Strange steering problem?

Just wanted to report that I solved my problem. It worked out to be the UJs on the steering shaft :) as Mr Noisy had suggested. Squirted some WD40 on them, took it for a test drive... everything perfect! It worked out to be the cheapest possible fix :D

    Strange steering problem?

I'm non the wiser about my problem. Lifted the front end off the ground, disconnected the track rod ends from both wheels, the one from under the steering box. Steering wheel with steering box turns freely, so do the wheels (swivel bearings OK). Thought it might have been the steering damper...

The only way of finding the solution is ineracting and thinking :)

    Strange steering problem?

I can try it at low speed with higher revs, good idea. Was also thinking about getting the front up on axle stands and testing the steering for any unusual resistance by turning it from one lock to the other with the engine off.

    Strange steering problem?

Whenever I replaced the pump I fitted a non genuine one. That's probably as long as they last.

    Strange steering problem?

The tension on the belt seems to be fine. I checked that also. Could it be a faulty steering box?

    Strange steering problem?

Hello everyone, I've developed an unusual problem on my '96 300Tdi Discovery. When I turn my steering at low speeds (eg. driving through car parks) the steering wheel feels as if is slipping. It goes: stiff then easy, stiff then easy while turning the steering wheel. When I arrived home, I...

    300Tdi Discovery Autobox filter location

I drove the front on ramps which gave me enough room, just frustrated about the "difficult to access" sump screw. I thought they would have came up with a better design.

How do I get rid of the oil that is in the torque converter, is there a drain plug for it somewhere?
