    SIII restoration

Thanks britax! I'm afraid there is no bulkhead repair pannel for that top section that I know of. Maybe you could try the guys that fabricate bulkheads. They have advertised on page 204 of Novembers LRM. There is no company name or website printed, just a telephone and fax: Tel-(01283)734324...

    SIII restoration

The Chassis was a new Galv one but they dont look right when you dont paint em! It was brush painted with special metals primer and smooth black hammerite. I know hammerite chips off easily, but I'll just touch it up every now and then and I'm sure it will be fine!!! Got any pics of yours...

    Starter motor

They should be the same starter moter (RTC3854) so yes it will fit. RTC3854 now supersedes to an RTC5225N. This means that Land Rover have at some stage replaced the older type part with a slightly different part that should be compatable as a replacement for the older part.

amski, here is a few pic's hope you find em usefull. Basicly, bottom spring goes streight across from shoe to shoe in the holes as shown. The top spring goes from shoe to back plate. If you look at the spring first you will see there is a long end and a short and. There is a recess in the pin...

    200Tdi insurance

I recently got a new insurance for defender and thought it worth while to opt for 'More Than' insurance as this is one of very few companies which still covers you to drive any other vehicle with the owners permision. A very usefull insurance!!! This I think is worth bearing in mind.

    Do i loose the "pen"??

The problem here is that if you loose the Pen then your name should be changed to Pig as PIGPEN is no longer fitting. Then there is a danger of being kidnapped and allsorts. Good Luck!!!

No tunes on (in) my wagon

Why have a car radio shoved in that space where it dosn't fit? I have mounted an amp out of sight behind the centre seat. With the right lead - all I have to do is plug my mobile phone into the amp and hey presto - digital quality sound (All very well if you got the right phone).

    the zone inn(open all day)

OK this pub and pig blowing up thing is getting out of hand now!!! I'm going to have to insist on a hefty beer fine for anyone found to be blowing up pigs. Those doing this just for sport can now go and blow up Hippo's as I believe this is a gaylander nickname of some sorts?????? Speaking of...

    rattling rear door shennaniggans

I'd consider getting a swinging spare wheel carrier as they are designed to take the weight off the door hinges but at the same time they also bolt to the door which stops it from rattling. I'v just fitted one of these and it works fantastic. Good Luck!!
