Got the same fault on mine.I found its the flasher unit that is located underneath the steering wheel to the left and behind the fuse box there.Check connections.If ok you can remove the unit easily and the actual working bit slides out of the housing so you can check it.

Yeah very common prob on sender pipes same happened for me. Fitted new sender unit and replaced all fuel lines with clear beer lines so i can see at a glance if any air in the fuel system oh bypassed the sedimenter at the same time

From your pic i would suggest it is a previous owners addition.The black wires look like the earth.Where do the reds come/ go to.Might be for spotlights that have been removed

Lol know what you mean did my water pump last week in near freezing temps but also had the joy of being unable to get one of the bolts out so ended up cutting the the head off and using plenty of silicone on the gasket in that area. Seems good so far going to attempt to drill and tap a new bolt...
