I see some of you have been to Whaddon recently. How was it? My mate went a few years ago he said they nearly lost one of their motors in a hole it was so wet and difficult. Thinking about giving it a go before I sell my hybrid.
Tom.
Has anyone been to Whaddon in Buckinghamshire? I was thinking of going soon until my mate said he lost a motor in a hole it was that wet and difficult.
The flap is a backfire flap. My hybrid has a single point LPG system and so did my old V8 Discovery. On my hybrid it tends to backfire when you try to run it cold. On the discovery it did it when it flicked over to gas while you were accelerating (i.e the engine was under load). It was a...
That sounds a bit easier. I did think about putting some WD40 in an air spray gun and giving everything a blast from underneath. I have a 5L container of it!
I am too used to a landrover with a big suspension lift! There is not much room under a discovery! I can't see how to get the gaiter on the transfer lever off? I prised it up a bit but could just feel foam on the inside.
He thinks the alternator is too low in the engine bay. I might just take to a landrover garage and ask them what they think. I will check what belts it has too as Im sure 200tdis have seperate belts driving the alternator and power steering pumps
I will have another proper look but I think the dipstick is at the front of the engine and it definately has a square air filter not a round one. My mate is not convinced.
Yes it doesn't seem too bad on the road but pulling away is terrible. Its like its trying to pull away in second - but its not as I put it in 1st and tried it.
It has done 125k so it could probably do with a spring clean. Can you use kero neat? I haven't done it for a long time but we used to just use parafin on tractors
All the discoverys I have owned have had cruise control but none of them ever worked! It is usually corroded pipes as it works on a vacuum i think. Also some cruise controls won't work if the brake fluid is low - a safety thing.
