    Whaddon

I see some of you have been to Whaddon recently. How was it? My mate went a few years ago he said they nearly lost one of their motors in a hole it was so wet and difficult. Thinking about giving it a go before I sell my hybrid. Tom.

LPG and LPG A - the difference???

I am insured with Adrian Flux and they never asked for any of this. They said it was pointless trying to list all the modifications as it is a hybrid.

The ultimate question! What’s the best?

I would have said Discovery. 90's are good but uncomfortable and no room inside which is why when you see one the drivers window is normally down!

Has anyone ever been to Whaddon?

Has anyone been to Whaddon in Buckinghamshire? I was thinking of going soon until my mate said he lost a motor in a hole it was that wet and difficult.

    Engine Backfire?? air filter

The flap is a backfire flap. My hybrid has a single point LPG system and so did my old V8 Discovery. On my hybrid it tends to backfire when you try to run it cold. On the discovery it did it when it flicked over to gas while you were accelerating (i.e the engine was under load). It was a...

    Seized Diff Lock

That sounds a bit easier. I did think about putting some WD40 in an air spray gun and giving everything a blast from underneath. I have a 5L container of it!

    Seized Diff Lock

I am too used to a landrover with a big suspension lift! There is not much room under a discovery! I can't see how to get the gaiter on the transfer lever off? I prised it up a bit but could just feel foam on the inside.

    Seized Diff Lock

I'll give it a squirt of WD40 and try giving it a good pull from the other side. I like to try the easy things first!

    Seized Diff Lock

I hadn't noticed before but my diff lock on my 300tdi won't budge. It has probably never been used. Does anyone know an easy(ish) way to free it ?

    200 or 300tdi

Mine has a square filter that exits on the passenger side wing near the headlight

Novice needs advice re overheating problem.

I'd have taken it back and driven it through their office

    200 or 300tdi

He thinks the alternator is too low in the engine bay. I might just take to a landrover garage and ask them what they think. I will check what belts it has too as Im sure 200tdis have seperate belts driving the alternator and power steering pumps

    200 or 300tdi

Its a 96 on a P plate but that might not mean it has the right engine. It definately has a later front end

    200 or 300tdi

I will have another proper look but I think the dipstick is at the front of the engine and it definately has a square air filter not a round one. My mate is not convinced.

    200 or 300tdi

I'm not convinced my disco is a 300tdi. Does anyone know what the main differences in appearance are?

    Sluggish 300tdi

    Where can you get it?

    Sluggish 300tdi

Yes it doesn't seem too bad on the road but pulling away is terrible. Its like its trying to pull away in second - but its not as I put it in 1st and tried it.

    Sluggish 300tdi

It has done 125k so it could probably do with a spring clean. Can you use kero neat? I haven't done it for a long time but we used to just use parafin on tractors

    Sluggish 300tdi

Worth a try then. How do I remove the EGR valve (roughly)

    Cruise Control

All the discoverys I have owned have had cruise control but none of them ever worked! It is usually corroded pipes as it works on a vacuum i think. Also some cruise controls won't work if the brake fluid is low - a safety thing.
