Before I go buying new bits. I'm still wondering why the bolt holding the shaft to the vcu was slack. Is it worth removing the lot. Checking and tightening and re fitting ?

Yes my old mounts seem to have a bit of play. I guess it has done 93k. Hopefully after this I'll have a real 4x4

I will go to bell as the seem to have a good rep and are cheapest so it's win win. Could anything else be damaged. I don't want to buy a new vcu to find something else is bust

i was just on bell engineering website, £200 for a fully recon vcu, why are some on ebay £350+ whats the difference

I am getting front wheels spinning and 1 rear wheel. Either or depending where I am. Tc is not working. This is a field track I am on. Very slippy

Yes I got stuck. Front was spinning. Unsure which one and the rear driver side was not spinning. I read somewhere that only 1 side will spin so I guess it's the side that I couldn't see. It has tc but the 3 lights are on at the moment

I have the same issues on my freelander 1. I'm going to replace both wishbones and rear wishbone bushes as I suspect it's my ball joints

I can't really find anything with info on how to test them
