If the vcu splines are shot it can't even be refurbed. If this is the case I may try welding it up and running the same tyres

The bolt is threaded into the end of the vcu is it not ? I just made a thread about it having BFG all terrain tyres on the rear and ****ty road tyres on the front. I'm now thinking it could be linked

It must be the splines. The rear shaft and vcu spin. It's not free spinning. There is some resistance. The head of the bolt also spins which makes me think it's the splines. What I don't no is what caused it

I'm on my phone and the search doesn't work. 2 BFG tyres are worn a bit but not bellow half. Maybe got 3/4 left

On my freelander I have 2 BFG all terrain tyres on the rear and 2 **** looking road tyres on the front. It is currently running 2wd. When I change back to 4x4 and fit 2 new BFG tyres will it effect 4x4 having 2 part worn on the front and 2 new on the rear ?

Ye 99 model. I don't think it has ac. Us north of Inverness are tuff. But drops of water down the neck really **** me off

I didn't even no I had ac. Boot locker is dry

I have noticed that in this cold weather my sun roof and windscreen are full of condensation. So much I have to use a cloth. Is this common or is there something I can do to fix this as it makes me late for work

My freelander still has the prop but is only running 2wd.

lol they always seem to come with the prop in the boot, better mpg = fooked vcu

check it is 100% 4x4

i no your pain. today i hacked up my sensor and noticed the ring is split, altho my sensor was giving no reading when i tested it, i got a new ring on ebay for £2.30

I had a poke about today. To me it looks the the splines from the front prop to the vcu are shot. Maybe caused by the slack bolt. I'll remove it tomorro and get some pics posted up

I had a petrol model before in 2wd but now I have this diesel I want it 4x4 and try off roading. When I first saw the slack bolt I thought the splines were shot. The prop and vcu spins free but the front prop stays solid. When spinning the wheel the head of the bolt is spinning aswel

The do make a slight grumble but I'll hold of until I checked it
